It's time for a big bounty here on JABC, so let's get creative: think of your favourite author, and write us a short story inspired by their work.
If your favourite author has a very distinctive style or voice, that's perfect - give us your best imitation in their honour! Otherwise, tackle similar subjects, themes, settings, or characters. Stephen King fan? Give us a spooky story set in Maine. Brandersonite? Come up with a nice crunchy magic system. Love your Jane Austen? The world simply does not have enough witty romantic social satires.
Minimum word count: 800 words. The best submission gets $30, second gets $20, and third gets $10. We can't wait to see what you come up with!
