“Book tokers” are people who smoke that kind herb while they read, right?

Weed Readers or Weeders are those that smoke whilst reading to really get into the story. Sometimes they roll-up using previously read pages to really get into the book

People who smoke books was my second guess

Comic Drake

Because I'm old - I actually followed this guy back when he was on ScrewAttack as an intern named Trailer Drake. Eventually he took this video editing knowledge and found his niche in comic books.
What I like about Comic Drake is that he sounds and acts passionately about Comic books - not just summarising the main story lines like a wikipedia page but voices his opinion and summaries like your buddy talking to you. Cutting the corners on the unimportant details whilst highlighting the really important elements and lore implications.

I think one of his best pieces is about Scott Pilgrim. Following a creator for a long time, you also gain insights into their mental state and personal lives. And for me it includes Drake's different relationships, a big decline in mental health leading to hospitalisation, to his recovery and where he is now. It's touched upon in this video and I do like when creators make them selves a little more vulnerable and open to the audience

Owl Criticism on youtube! He does more long-form literary criticism. Even though I don't always agree with everything he says, he is very eloquent and well-read!

I think youtube is the best place for literary criticism, as for it to be a well-rounded argument, you kinda need a bit more time than a TikTok.

Also I like his tastes in books in general <3

Ong I absolutely love all the recommendations by Tierney reads! She’s an Australian booktoker also on insta which is mostly what I see her on but I found her on TikTok initially!

She rates books especially the ones with spice and fun plots such as mafia, age gaps, etc. It’s got me into reading and I have found some amazing books to read to either get me more into reading or just have a fun ‘romantic’ life even though I’m single as hell. The books are also spicy so it makes it all better!

Hey there, very sorry not to have caught this before the bounty closed, but you've made a normal reply here rather than a bounty submission, so we're not able to award this (which is a shame as it looks like a great recommendation)! In future please use the purple 'submit' button to enter bounties and only use the reply button if you just want to chat on the thread.

Comicstorian

This was the first comic book YouTube channel that I came across. It made me have a deeper appreciation for comics, audiobooks, and narration. Benny Potter’s storytelling was otherworldly, you could tell how much fun he was having when narrating a comic or analysing comic book lore.

It was a sad day when Benny passed away, but I’m glad that other members of Comicstorian are still carrying the torch for him.

R.I.P Benny Potter.

RIP - I loved his retelling of the Injustice storyline.

It made me really respect Constantine. When the whole DC world is going to shit, he comes up with a con and YOLO's out of that shit show

Interesting, will follow the bounty, this is something new to me.

I love following reads.by.lex

She is someone that basically does a quick overview on a lot of romance books. I love the way she sort of just presents her entire Instagram because it’s straight into the point. She’s mostly someone that gives a lot of recommendations to what could be a good next read. She is based on Instagram and creates loads of infographics with quick pullout keyword that quickly describe the book, because she does this in such a visually appealing way, it is really nice for her followers to see something clean and simple before diving into another one of her recommendations.

I’ve linked her Instagram below, and also I’ll attach a screenshot of what one of the post look like, that way you can see what I mean with the visual appeal to her content.
