It's time to put together another reading list! We've done beach reads and sci-fi/fantasy, and now we're taking a look at the classics.
A classic novel is tricky to define, but here's what we've got: a work of written fiction that has stood the test of time due to its literary quality and impact on both literature and wider society. A classic novel may be of its time, but transcends it, saying something universal about the human condition. Nothing too niche or limited in its message.
Following this definition, nominate one or more classic novels as the best or among the best of their kind, and be sure to tell us why. There's a minimum word count of 100 words on eligible submissions, but more is better - we'll reject submissions that don't make a good enough case for their nominees!
