This is likely to be a slightly biased answer, as I have never actually streamed to YT or Kick...

That said, Twitch to me seems to have a wider viewing presence than other platforms.

From my perspective - as a non techy kind of person - setting up to stream to twitch was really easy, once i had OBS downloaded and figured out a few things, i was rolling and provided you have a degree of patience, you will be streaming relatively quickly. The foundation of all of this, was a decent internet connection. After an aborted streaming attempt as the FPS was just far too low, once i had a solid and decent internet connection licked, I was rolling.

What i like about twitch is that anyone can do it - the barrier for entry is super low and you really don't need streamdecks and fancy animations and whatnot. That is one of the things I personally like about it, and it seems to be the go-to platform for building a community from scratch. It does take time mind, so don't expect to have instant followers - persevere with generating a following, and creating that community - the more homely the better as that will make people want to logon to chat, watch you play the game and also to interact with you.

I am sure there are cons with Twitch - but as an entry level streamer, i am yet to find them, however building a community has been very rewarding in itself :)

YouTube is my go-to, even if in general society, it's probably considered the most unconventonal platform for just streaming. However if you make both videos and livestreams, it's the best place.

Twitch and Kick are also optics disasters in the past few months, with Kick being essentially a gambling platform, and Twitch also having its fair share of controversies. Twitch has been getting much better though, and just the fact you can not co-stream on Twitch and other sites once you become a partner makes it so much more attractive, and is in itself a reason I want to go back to using it.

By far the biggest deciding factor is probably discoverability, and how easy it is to grow, and start earning money. In 2023, it feels almost impossible on any platform. However, YouTube at least feels slightly more possible, as you can also gain an audience for long-form videos or Shorts.

YouTube feels like the most accessible platform as well, as it's a platform everyone knows, and also hasn't gone overboard on features. As someone who has little knowledge on Twitch, all the various different features and ways to give money to the streamer are overwhelming to even start and understand, while Kick, as a completely new platform that does little in terms of promoting its features other than its revenue split, is even more of a mystery.

Just wanted to say I really like both submissions for this bounty so far. As someone fairly new to streaming my answer was also Twitch for the exact same reasons, easy to set up and get going, but the thought about Youtube being better for those who make videos and also stream is really interesting, I'll definitely give it a go there too and see how it goes.

Thank you for sharing your experience guys!

Out of the streaming platforms listed, Twitch has the largest presence in the market, which makes it more convenient to reach your target audience. On the negative side, the monetization setup leaves a lot to be desired. Twitch takes half of your subscription revenue as a creator. Additionally, given that the platform has existed for a long time, it can be hard to break into a niche or category

Kick aims to solve the monetization problems of Twitch by offering creators a much higher remuneration. The downside to the platform is that there really isn't an existing audience, so the platform is relying on contracting high value streamers in an effort to increase traffic. It is also still under development, which means less QOL features and more bad actors.

Youtube is late to the party when it comes to livestreaming and shares the problems that Kick has with trying to compete with an already established livestreaming service. The advantage of Youtube is that content creators can grow their brand with full length videos and shorts, which will translate into more traffic in their live streams.

Overall, Twitch is the best platform so far, but it's possible for another platform to usurp it
