Okie dokie folks, here’s my entry! It was really fun researching the style of nature documentaries and understanding how they come together. Loved this bounty! 😊

Well that was very relaxing. This bounty is on fire!

I like that you kept it simple and focus on a single subject and really showcase it. I myself don’t watch that much documentaries, so I had to do the same too 😄

Embark on an extraordinary journey through the enchanting realm of Vermund!

Thanks! :P spent quite a bit of time on the script.

Great job! laughed at a few of the funny moments.

Konquest's avatar

The hardest part was stalking creatures until they did something weird :D

Ford James's avatar

Man, how did you get Attenborough to do the VO?! :D

The moonwalking goat got me, nice job.

Konquest's avatar

Thanks! I’ve been mowing his lawn for the past week 🤣

Wonderful video! Really like that you captured animals doing daft things in there

Konquest's avatar

Thanks. lol. I was commited to catching them in the act.

This s genuinely excellent. It made me laugh quite a few times!

Konquest's avatar

Thanks! I think this is one of the better videos I’ve made.

Konquest's avatar

It turned out better than I expected 😄

Ok here goes. This took a lot of time, effort, and new skills to learn. I'm really pleased with the results. Hopefully you all like it and if so I would really appreciate it you could give it a like on YouTube.

Awesome job! I found it very entertaining indeed 😄

Thanks very much! It was about double the length at one point but I tried to really edit it down and tell a coherent trailer sized narrative.

I took a lot of creative license from the brief, but the idea was to go similar to some of the recent nature docs where it's a story of nature trying to survive in an environment damaged and destroyed by human behaviour.

It's also kinda true in the world of Dragons Dogma 2. Why are we killing every one of these fantastic creatures we come across? Why is everything attacking the humans? The ones that don't fight back like the oxes are put to work for a life of hard labour towing carts. Who are actually the bad guys in this game? Something to think about.

Learning video editing can be really hard. I started in Filmora which is easier for beginners. Then I switched to Adobe premier pro. And have been using for the past year. I just uninstalled it and now deciding on switching to da Vince resolve. I’ve never used it but most of the things are similar. So I understand it’s intimidating for new users but with time you will get better.

I like your view of thinking. Really gives people a different perspective 😄 I would have loved to have horses or some kind of animal companions (not Beasterines) 😅

Similar to me! I've been using Capcut (which is practically the same as filmora) for little shorts and basic gameplay footage editing. Sticker overlays etc. This was the first time I used Davinchi ( I did the sticker and text overlays in Capcut still as there is practically nothing included in Davinchi to work with).

I had 20 hours of footage to go through to make clips out of and file into different folders for each creature. Then made clips of clips from those. It just wasn't going to work in Capcut so I decided to make the switch finally and move away from it.

I actually watched a few of your old videos the other day. It looks like you've been on quite a journey working on learning skills and trying out different types of content. I just want to put out a few things for fun really and to learn new skills/tools etc. The community on here and the small payments give a bit more motivation. Makes It feel worthwhile doing and rewarding.

I do have some experience but no means an expert I’m better at photoshop and design. I’m just trying to be a content creator, I don’t have to be making big money but just being able to earn a comfortable life doing what you love that’s the dream. I’m also here to learn from others experience and grow. Trying to make money from doing what I love rather than what society tells you, that you have to do. Just about really helps with the bounties and helpful community. I’m really happy I found this community 😄

Ford James's avatar

This is fab, nice job Dave!

Alex Sinclair's avatar

Great job Dave! You're right to be proud of this!

Dave's avatar

Konquest is the best one though, I vote for that one! Smashed the brief out of the park!

The error I made was trying to put something together from all my recorded play sessions rather than going in specifically to gather footage for it. Should have focused more on the commentary and telling the story as well. Lessons for the next creative video one!

Konquest's avatar

Funny you should say that. Initially I wasn’t even going to even try, I was new to here and I was a bit intimidated by size of the bounty 😅 but then I though since I’m trying to be a content creator anyways I just pushed myself. For me the biggest challenge has always been myself, not technical skills or lack of ideas. So I’m really glad I found Just About. It has helped me push myself forward, out of my rut so to speak.

Dave's avatar

This could turn out terrible but I'm having a go at this one...

Dave's avatar

This has been a really fun bounty both to enter and to see everyone's entries. more like this please!

Konquest's avatar

Indeed I agree it was really fun. In essence I think this challenge really gives you an idea of what being a creator is about. Planning your video content and structure, sourcing the b-roll and putting it all together. I like the higher bounties because it really pushes you to try and up your game, that’s what I feel. Even if I don’t win hey. I made something great that I’m happy with anyways 😄 so win-win

I'm delighted you both enjoyed it and agree with all the praise you've rightly received for your entries. We're always a bit nervous putting up these slightly higher-effort bounties but the response we've had from you both and FrostySomething is exactly what we were hoping for, so thank you all (and anyone else who's entering in the next few hours) for putting wind in our sails! This'll be a tough one to judge 😊

Dave's avatar

For these high value creative ones where there are enough decent entries, I would like to propose this (not neccesarily for this one):

Create a featured article about the bounty in the games community but also the video game space for wider site visibility. A brief description of the bounty & the text behind the entry/taken from subsequent comments where needed, and embed the videos. Include a timed poll.

Invite the wider community to view the submissions and vote on their favourite. This makes it more engaging for the site community as a whole. This will also give the entrants more views/traffic to their video and helps the judging. You could even push the article wider such as to your socials etc if possible and try and drum up some new users to come and vote.

Include some t&C's that JA staff decision is final and reserve the right to award differently to the poll results (incase of vote rigging or other unexpected or strange results).

Just an idea.
