Some would consider the Vedmak the logical successor of the Omen Navy Issue: Comparable speed, tank, and range, but a whopping 3 instead of only 1 utility high slot. The fourth mid-slot on the Vedmak also allows it to fit a web or gain additional range via a Tracking Computer. Its only downside is, that it needs some time to ramp up damage, whereas an Omen Navy Issue can punish the unworthy with its holy laser-lights at full force from the get-go.

Since I have a hard time deciding which of the two I like more, let me post a fit for both.

Vedmak

This fitting is especially intended for kiting over a longer time engagement without running out of capacitor charges overly fast. For that reason, a Polycarbon Engine Housing-Rig and a Cold-Gas Enduring MWD were installed. That way the ship can keep moving on it's regular capacitor much longer than a conventional fitting without trading much else. (The Core Probe Launcher is offline if not needed.)

Love both these fits... will defo give that Vedmak a roadtrip!

...but you haven't included a BC though :)

My challenge to you... provide x2 BC's that harmonise with the x2 cruisers :)

True. Because I rarely fly Battlecruisers - too slow for my usual solo and micro-gang approach. But Drekavacs & Hurricane Fleet Issues tend to be good additions to armor gangs of four or more. Fittings attached.

This is tough!

On the basis that i like to fight outnumbered and outgunned, there are a number of ships that I could have chosen here. That said, after much deliberation, which equates to a couple of cups of tea and a hot choccy woccy doodah, I eventually chose the Osprey Navy Issue.

The Osprey navy Issue, or NOsprey, OsNI.

The NOsprey is the feastest caldari cruiser on the block and a totally awesome bonussed missile vessel.

The fit I have chosen is as follows:

[Osprey Navy Issue, keacte's Osprey Navy Issue]

Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Nanofiber Internal Structure II

50MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive Faint Epsilon Scoped Warp Scrambler Large F-S9 Regolith Compact Shield Extender Multispectrum Shield Hardener II Warp Disruptor II X-Large Ancillary Shield Booster,Navy Cap Booster 400

Rapid Light Missile Launcher II,Caldari Navy Scourge Light Missile Rapid Light Missile Launcher II,Caldari Navy Scourge Light Missile Rapid Light Missile Launcher II,Caldari Navy Scourge Light Missile

Medium Ancillary Current Router I Medium EM Shield Reinforcer II Medium Polycarbon Engine Housing I

This fit needs a Zainou 'Gnome' Launcher CPU Efficiency LE-602 for CPU.

With it's 5/6/4 slot layout - this is my go to kitey cruiser for FUN per hour!

It has a long point for when kiting, and a defensive scram for those pesky light tacklers that want to get in close and play with your missiles!

It has an XLASB for a decent tank, with extra mids for utility, and extra highs, this ship is a powerful but affordable ship. The fit I have opted for does not utilise the utility highs, however you can easily drop the XLASB, and upgrade to dual LSE and whack a couple of medium neuts for neut pressure in the highs. This ship can also swap out for HAMs if you so desire - it is very versatile!

That said, cap stability on this boat is rough - don't engage if you expect a long engagement as you will struggle with cap pressure. I find pulsing the MWD works to try to draw tackle and targets away from enemy fleets, and kill them right under their mates noses!

At range this ship is deadly. When brawling you will die. The USP of this ship is the speed and the missile projection, but watch out on those pesky reloads though and if you running in a fleet, sometimes worth staggering clips so as to not all reload at the same time, and also bringing a variety of ewar like paints for example to really help those missiles apply!

Right... now for the Battlecruiser.

As EVE is Even Better With Friends, and the OP does not mention about this being used for solo etc, i have opted for the Oracle.

With its 8/3/6 slot configuration, this is the go to high volley / alpha ship. Well priced, very simple ship to fly ... but don't be fooled, this is a difficult ship to fly well!

Triple heats sinks allow rapid fire, and with a tracking enhancer the range and tracking speed of turrets is vastly improved. With the nanos to increases its velocity/maneuverability this is a force to be reckoned with, as on overheat the MWD will take you to the insane speed of 2.5KM/s which for a ship of this class is excellent.

Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I Medium Energy Locus Coordinator II Medium Energy Locus Coordinator II

Conflagration L x8 Scorch L x8 Nanite Repair Paste x100

This is the perfect ship to sit along side the NOsprey. HUGE DPS and projection - throw this in with a long-pointer, like a Keres, and a hyena for ranged webs, and a couple of AFs, and a couple of NOsprey and you have a really deadly little nano gang.

Load short range if something gets on top of you, and stay aligned.

Fast warping, decent tank, and nanos.

Looks kinda cool too! :)

Enjoy!

Arrgh, Keacte! I wanted to post the Navy Osprey! -.-

Guess I have to post the Vedmak now.

So for a cruiser the easy answer for the best kiting plafform is the Orthrus-class from the Mordu's Legion, is very fast to begin with, its bonus to missile velocity ensure that the missies can always catch up to their intended target, has very good range is sually able to apply damage to anything its able to point, the long point allows the pilot to keep a target in place while the long scram provides good tange control and screening against light tackle and it's DPS is not to be underestimated despite it being a Rapid Light Missile oriented ship. It is on the expensive side of things but is by far one of the strongest cruisers out there.

not a battlecruiser, they tend to be too slow and cumbersome to do kiting effectively but if there is one I feel that is more than capable of fulfilling the role is the Cyclone Fleet Issue, it is ridiculously fast for a ship of its size with this fit linked bellow and a Skirmish Mindlink + Overcloaker + Quafe is easily capable of surpasing the 3.5 Km/s mark, is able to catch up and run way from frigates, plus a 6% rate of fire bonus per skill level makes it capable of outputting 700 dps with Fury heavy missiles, my only problem with it is that is able to shoot further than its able to lock a target but that is easily fixed with the use of a backpack ship with remote sebos or Information Command Bursts.
