Hey JAKEL33T - great video as always. We've marked you a winner, but to maximise your chances of winning as competition increases on the site, we'd love it if you posted a short description alongside your videos - just to let fellow community members know what to expect.

EVE is a huge complex game - but i think the top 3 for me would be:

  1. NPSI PVP

  2. EVE Rookies Starter incursions

  3. Exploration

doing 2&3 allows you to do 1!

This is a fantastic resource as to the scope & size of EVE!

I get this question so often in Twitch chat, mostly framed along with the context of "best" being "most ISK" a new player can earn.

Hands down, in terms of accessibility and profit, exploration.

But what if you don't like explo? This is the more important lesson I try to teach new players. Don't do it. Don't do anything in EVE chasing ISK exclusively. That is the fast track to burnout.

Instead I suggest staying an Alpha starting out, trying out various activities, and when you find your niche, when you find your fun per hour, THEN we can better help you develop methods that will make the ISK generation a byproduct, rather than a focus.

Sadly, there are not that many new-bro K-space activities that pay very well in comparison to null/low/wh options. Just learning the game is the best recommendation people can make.

We have a collection of activities that are easy for newbros to get into here, right now the high sec exploration sites with the current event is most likely the best option.

There are shared sites that require a team to do, but not sure it's best for new players since they struggle to find groups to play with.

Wish I had better answers!

Hi Gonzo I haven't said hello to you yet...so hello! But more importantly, I just wanted to say that even though you didn't win this bounty, we came very close to marking you a winner. If there was another prize available, we would have given it to you. So do keep entering! Cheers!

I know everyone else will post a lot of good ideas for for K-Space activities, so I wanted to give some ideas off the beaten path.

  1. Do career agents partly but sell the Civilian Shuttles. The Civilian variants of shuttles are similar to their normal empire versions. They can be obtained from the Making Mountains of Molehills (8 of 10) mission by building the shuttle and then failing the mission. They are not marketable but can be sold directly to collectors.

  2. Circle missions are level 1 distribution missions that give you a referral to an another agent at your end destination. You loop back to the start and you get a one time faction standing bonus during the first loop. It is an easy way for new players to build faction standing.

  3. Data center are a way to pay for standings increase. However, there are Data Center Misson Chains that were an old tutorial long ago. These chains are very simple but introduce you to new areas of space and give you training implants and faction standings.

  4. Farming COSMOS blueprints. COSMOS is archaic content and not suitable for any sane player. However, it’s fairly simple for a new player to do the repeatable COSMOS agents and farm the static sites for storyline blueprints. This is also great for alpha players as many of the items such as the Yan Jung mining modules are best in slot for Alpha players and while expensive to buy on the market due to low supply, they don’t require much effort to obtain.

Thanks for sharing these. These are the sort of excellent, hard-to-find tips that you can only get from going straight to the community.

I often get asked how to get into PVP, and a common answer to that question is to delve into faction warfare. But I actually think this should be one of the first things a player does once they have the basics down.

The PVP is entirely optional, but a player will learn some valuable skills in FW space that they can apply to every other aspect in Eve:

  • They will learn to use D-scan for intelligence and to stay safe.

  • They will encounter players both friendly and hostile, and by reading the corp chat will be able to participate in intelligence gathering on hostile movements.

  • They will be able to join friendly fleets, and learn the basics of fleet etiquette.

  • They will be able to easily hop into a PVP scenario when they choose to.

  • They will have a PVP scenario forced upon them, and probably experience and become accustomed to loss.

  • They can participate meaningfully in a cheap frigate or destroyer.

  • They will learn how to travel safely around hostile space, and best practices to stay alive.

Faction warfare can provide a new player with so many skills that all players should know. It also helps that it can be one of the most exciting activities in Eve, and with Havoc just around the corner, now is the perfect time to hop in.

Whenever I encounter a new player, there are a few things I suggest. For starters, I ALWAYS reccomend that they complete all of their career agent missions. These missions do a very good job of detailing potential activities to undertake in the game while also providing essential experience in navigating the game. In addition to this, it also gives them a head start on their AIR Career Program objectivesm, which will net them more skillpoints and ISK. Completing the program is another suggestion that I make for those done with their agents, but in need of direction.

After that, the players main concern is usually making ISK, so I point them in a few low SP directions:

Exploration - This is my favorite activity and it gets more lucrative the more a player becomes invested in it. From simple Relic hacking, to running combat sites and Sleeper Caches, there are a lot of activities to keep the player engaged and can make them money

Gas Huffing - Combining scanning with a harvesting activity, gas mining is a great activity for low SP pilots that are looking for a very generous risk vs reward ratio. One cargohold of gas is enough for a new pilot to live in luxury for about 5 minutes before they discover the hypernet or Jita Local Chat!

Homefront Operations - I call these a “Poor man’s Incursion”. Each member of a fleet will get a payout for completing a site, which are located in Hisec. This makes it perfect for new players because they can make isk quickly with the guidance of veteran players such as Rushlock

Beyond that, I suggest players interested in PVP enlist in faction warfare to learn the basics of ship combat. Yeeting 100 ships at the warzone will help a player to improve as long as they learn from the mistakes they make each time.
