Whenever I encounter a new player, there are a few things I suggest. For starters, I ALWAYS reccomend that they complete all of their career agent missions. These missions do a very good job of detailing potential activities to undertake in the game while also providing essential experience in navigating the game. In addition to this, it also gives them a head start on their AIR Career Program objectivesm, which will net them more skillpoints and ISK. Completing the program is another suggestion that I make for those done with their agents, but in need of direction.
After that, the players main concern is usually making ISK, so I point them in a few low SP directions:
Exploration - This is my favorite activity and it gets more lucrative the more a player becomes invested in it. From simple Relic hacking, to running combat sites and Sleeper Caches, there are a lot of activities to keep the player engaged and can make them money
Gas Huffing - Combining scanning with a harvesting activity, gas mining is a great activity for low SP pilots that are looking for a very generous risk vs reward ratio. One cargohold of gas is enough for a new pilot to live in luxury for about 5 minutes before they discover the hypernet or Jita Local Chat!
Homefront Operations - I call these a “Poor man’s Incursion”. Each member of a fleet will get a payout for completing a site, which are located in Hisec. This makes it perfect for new players because they can make isk quickly with the guidance of veteran players such as Rushlock
Beyond that, I suggest players interested in PVP enlist in faction warfare to learn the basics of ship combat. Yeeting 100 ships at the warzone will help a player to improve as long as they learn from the mistakes they make each time.
