Brief summary:

On January 27th, 2014, the system of BR-5RB in the Immensea region became the site of the largest and most costly battle in EVE Online’s history (at the time).

A missed sovereignty bill pulled in over 50 alliances, leading to 12 hours of nonstop fighting. More than 7,500 pilots clashed, with thousands of ships destroyed - including 75 titans, the most ever lost in a single battle.

The destruction was valued at 11 trillion ISK at the time, roughly $300,000 USD. By today’s PLEX ratio, that loss would exceed 30 trillion ISK.

The wrecks still drift in BR-5RB, preserved as a permanent monument - a vast graveyard of titans and capitals, and a haunting reminder of the day New Eden burned.
