A Band Apart

Pardon me while I tell you about my Alliance, A Band Apart (ABA), and why it covers three of the categories in Low Sec, High Sec, and Wormhole space. I created ABA to give our pilots the opportunity to experience the opportunities that Eve had to offer all under one roof. For over a decade now our Alliance has thrived, competed, and withstood in our unique corner of the Eve universe.

Stay Frosty - The legendary Pirates of Stay Frosty have set the standard for Low Sec solo and small gang PvP for over 11 years now. We remain a bastion of independence and the only Corporation in Eve with over 200,000 kills that manages to maintain a solid 50/50 split between solo and small gang action. We have regular organized fleets 2-3 times a week in addition to our daily infamous Wolfpaks and, unlike most, we do not have any blues. And each year we host the largest player-run event in all of Eve Online - our famous Frigate Free For All which will be held again on Saturday, April 20th in our home system of Ouelletta.

How to join? That's easy. If you have 10m skill points and a desire to prove and improve yourself on hard mode - then join our in-game channel EVEOGANDA or join our Discord to learn more.

Lucifer's Hammer - Our industry arm has a presence in both High Sec and in Wormhole space and is an extremely active and engaged group of builders, mission runners, miners, and traders that help keep our Alliance going. Many Stay Frosty pilots also have characters in LH and LH pilots often join us on roams, hole defense, and other activities. Our Alliance is very cross-functional and it is encouraged and supported.

To learn more join the in-game public channel THE FROSTY HAMMER or use the link above to join our Discord server. You can also learn more about our other Corporations, including Savagerie and Vanvidd - which operate in Amarr, Minmatar Factional War space, Turner, and other areas of New Eden.

So... here we go.

  1. High Sec - Strategic Exploration And Development Corp

  2. Low Sec - A Band Apart

  3. Null Sec - Pandemic Horde

  4. Wormholes - Lazerhawks

No1 - They are a large active corporation that has constant moon mining and fleets doing things for new players all the time, active comms, and Discord

No2 - Active Pirate corporation, fleets, big kills, ballsy, and lead the legend Rixx, enough of a reason right?

No3 - Massive null sec alliance/corporation, a huge area of space for newbies to play in and it is fairly secure as well, they do daily multiple fleets.

No4 - Active WH group who basically kick ass, however, this being said, WH is no joke and new players will struggle to find groups that will accept them, you need a bit of exp to survive in wormholes.

  1. Highsec: Noir.

  2. Lowsec: Noir.

  3. Nullsec: Noir.

  4. Wormhole: Noir.

Yes, I admit - this might look like cheating, but hear me out first!

Noir. is one of the oldest mercenary alliances in Eve Online. They have been taking contracts since 2010 and I don't think they are going to stop anytime soon™. I had the honor to fly with them for a while and conclude the occasional contract. These contracts can lead to all kinds of space. Wherever the client needs these mercs to go, they'll pack some extra ammo and are on their way.

Join Noir. and see the stars!

Also worth mentioning that, their CEO, Alekseyev Karrde is hosting the longest-running Eve Online podcast called Declarations of War. That alone is always worth a listen to get up to speed on all kinds of things Eve.

On top of that, Noir. also has an Academy program that allows the less experienced capsuleers to get into the action under the guidance of senior mercenaries.

If PvP is of any interest to one, Noir. is worth a look.

Here is their official recruitment thread in the official forums. This is very official business.

For new pilots venturing into the vast universe of EVE Online, choosing the right corp can be daunting, especially if you lack social connections or clear direction. Here’s a generic guideline to help you start:

Step One: Self-Assessment

First, ask yourself what you expect from a corp. Consider the types of activities you're interested in and your preferred interaction style. Do you want to be in a large corp where you can blend in, or a smaller, family-style corp that encourages close-knit interaction? Also, consider joining a corp in your time zone to increase the likelihood of concurrent play. It's perfectly fine if you're unsure what you want (see my recommendation below)!

Step Two: Finding Corps

My suggestion is to use one of these:

  1. In-Game Recruitment: Use the Recruitment tab under the Corporation section in the Neocom menu. This allows you to filter by activities, time zones, languages, and more.

  2. In-Game Fleets: Join random fleets and gauge how you feel about the group's dynamic. It's a 'try-before-you-buy' approach.

  3. Official Recruitment Forums: Check out the official forums for broader options.

Step Three: Be Bold

Don’t hesitate to join and try out different corps. If you're not enjoying the core activities or feeling uncomfortable, it’s perfectly okay to search for another group. Many players find their long-term corp home after exploring several options.

Lastly, My Recommendation

Start with EVE University [E-UNI]. It’s an excellent place to learn everything, meet friends, and discover the activities you enjoy most. They provide a safe, welcoming environment, free from early-game toxicity, and pave the way for a successful engagement with both, the game and its community. They even made an Application Guide hehe

A very good post!

100% with you on this one. I think the self assessment part is particularly important.

I will talk about spanish-speaking corporations since that is my main area of expertise:

-Hisec corporations: Imperio Galáctico

https://zkillboard.com/corporation/98740637/

Imperio Galáctico is currently the largest spanish-speaking EvE Online community. They are focused on new players and do plenty of activities where you can have lots of fun and earn isk with a very low barrier to entry in all kinds of space

-LowSec corporations: Flota Imperial

https://zkillboard.com/corporation/98746877/

Flota Imperial is the PvP-focused sister corp of Imperio Galáctico. They are focused in small gang roams in the Caldari-Gallente factional warfare area and all kinds of PvP

-Nullsec corporations: Furia Hispana

https://zkillboard.com/alliance/99011720/

Furia Hispana is currently the only spanish-speaking alliance in nullsec in the game. They are aligned with the PanFam coalition. They are formed by several corporations, and any of them will serve you well if you like the nullsec lifestyle

-Wormhole corporations: Guinea Pigs Appreciation Society

https://zkillboard.com/alliance/99012437/

Guinea Pigs Appreciation Society is a spanish-speaking wormhole alliance currently living in a C5-C5 wormhole focused on PvP from small gang to larger wormhole brawls

WILDCARD CORP - NPSI, the swiss army knife of corps

This is the FUN you have been looking for!

F.U.N. inc. (Even Better With Friends, EBWF) is a no drama PVP community that roams Nullsec looking for good fights both as corp only fleets and by regularly hosting NPSI fleets.

We also support our members in learning and developing their skills by enabling them to get out of their comfort zone and into that specialist role they always wanted to try such as scouting, logistics, ewar or FCing.

There are no SP thresholds, minimum or maximum. It's all about your fit and attitude.

We seek like minded players to develop and collaborate together whilst PVPing and having fun.

There are no pings, no timers and no blues. Just no strings attached fun.

If this sounds like your sort of thing (of course it does!) then hit us up on these channels and join one of our public fleets to see if we're a good fit.

Brave Empire Inc.

Looking for a home that gives you the freedom and support to try out every aspect of the game? Look no further, Brave Empire gives you all of the access to Null, with none of the drawbacks!

Brave's High Sec division operates out of Khanid, a mere stones throw (or jump) away from the main alliance's HQ in Querious. Players have access to all of the Brave Dojo's learning resources and fleets, regular highsec moon mining, all of the nullsec content available to the main alliance, and zero risk of war declerations. We also have moons to mine in lowsec, as well as the pvp opportunities that come with easy access to low and null, should you want it.

Not only that, but Brave and Brave Empire are both part of the Imperium. This means that not only do you get full access to Brave's Nullsec HQ, but also that of the Imperium in 1DQ. Full access to the Imperium market, IT infrastructure, comms and capital umbrella for those wanting to run CRABs.

There's no pressure to join any of the larger fleet operations, and you're free to just do your own thing if that's your jam. So why not drop in an application? Be Brave.

Without a doubt, the wide variety of corporations in the vast universe of Eve Online creates competition to win the affection of all pilots and thus swell their ranks (more players = more fun), so I will try to give my recommendation of corporations as objectively as possible.

High Sec: Assuming our esteemed reader is a newcomer who wants to take the time to learn the basic mechanics of the game and perhaps is interested in trying some mining, I consider Hijos de la Luna a good first option. They have a friendly CEO willing to share their knowledge. They may not be the largest, but I assure you that you will have fun and learn.

https://evewho.com/corporation/98552432

Low Sec: This is where my weakness lies; I don't know many low sec corps, or well, any that I can recommend. However, the only option I would feel comfortable recommending is the pilots of Flota Imperial. It's another Spanish-speaking corp that enjoys the PvP content offered by this particular sector of the game. They really like small roams and fights where everything is against them (and surprising prey when it's confident).

https://evewho.com/corporation/98746877

Null Sec: This is a space where the number of corporations that exist is enormous, especially when we want to see the differences between one and another. In other words, each of these options is a totally different world. However, if I had to choose just one, my recommendation would be FW Scuad, a corporation with years of existence where you will find a lot of experience in practically any field of the game. Undoubtedly an excellent place to learn and have fun.

For WH (Wormhole space), I have no doubt in recommending the pilots of Contacto J-space. They are great connoisseurs of their environment and willing to teach you whatever it takes so you can enjoy all the content that is possible, from PVE to PVP. However, you'll need to have many skills that are practically indispensable to live in WH.
