Beginners' tips: tell us how to get started in Farming Simulator 25!

With improved accessibility and quality-of-life features, Farming Simulator 25 will be the most beginner-friendly entry in the series yet. And yet we'd still like to do our bit in helping new players settle into these wonderful games which have, in the past, had a bit of a learning curve.

Please share one or more tips or tricks that you wish you knew when you first started playing the Farming Simulator games. Ideally your tip would be drawn from your experiences in FS25, but since it's only just released, you can extrapolate from FS22 (or earlier) as long as your advice will still apply in the new game.

Don't spend all your money on huge new machinery. Wait for things in the sale and gradually build up your farm.

Productions are a great way to diversify your farm and also make a lot of cash pretty fast. In FS25 mushrooms are great and they are also very fitting with the Asian map Hutan Pantai

Start by using the machinery you have, earn money focus on greenhouses and the mini-productions in the build menu to make your goods have more wealth and store it to the month, you can sell it.

The first thing to do when getting started with Farming Simulator 25 is to complete the tutorial. It is always very tempting to skip the tutorial in any video game, and especially if you have played previous games in the series, but I would always recommend playing the tutorial in full to get to know any changes from previous games or pick up any hints.

Secondly don’t rush to buy the biggest, most powerful machinery straight away, you would be surprised what you can achieve with the smaller stuff.

Start with cereal crops before you try your hand at anything more complex.

If you do find yourself low on money, you can always take a break from farming and go looking for collectibles. You get a monetary bonus for each one you collect and the entire map is unlocked from the start.

Doing a bunch of contracts at the begin will help not only keep you busy but will give you some cash to help grow your farm.

Grandpa Walter helps you out with some contract along with the contracts in the menu screen under contracts, I did a contract from Walter about haversting corn that paid pretty good. (Tip, if you line up a contract right before the season is about to be over. The crop will wilter you'll fail the contract but you get to keep whats in the combine/harvster and then you can sell it and make a profit that most of the time is more the finishing the contract

How to start in Farming Simulator? Personally, I always begin with various missions. I buy small equipment and maybe one plot of land, then gradually complete missions. Based on how much I earn, I acquire more equipment. Playing without loans is a great experience. I think the missions in the new Farming Simulator are well-balanced and perfect for taking your first steps in the game.

So my tips are if you start a new game.

1 don't buy expensive equipment buy what you need and don't waste the money.

Build production buildings in fs25 u have a few cheap options to start ur production.
Sell products and crops at the highest possible price. So if its not at the highest price just store the crop/products
Do contracts its a fun way to learn the game more and u also earn some money from it.
Use fertilizer on your crops it is not cheap to fertilizer your crops but it will help you earn more because if u fertilizer the crop it will give u a bigger yield.
Greenhouses are a good option to make a bit of money since they only require water and time.
Place passive money objects like windmills/solar panels. They coat a lot but they will give u money overtime and eventually they will pay themselves back.

I think the silage is the best way to get going in fs25. It’s the perfect mix between cheap, profit and effort. Grass is an easy crop to work with- just mow, rake and bale! And then, it all grows back in 3 months! And once you have enough money I recommend buy a few sheep. They eat grass so there’s still no need to purchase a Tedder, they will run smoothly alongside your silage operation.

if you are new to FS25 go to the help section and read the things you don't know, for example the news of this agriculture but also all the processes, greenhouses, productions and the most important thing how to work the land. whether you have a lot of money or little and are already starting with an established farm, don't sell everything for new and expensive means, use what you have and build your farm to reinvest what you produce in other products to earn more if make a lot of rapeseed put the bees near the fields so as well as making honey they increase the yield of the rapeseed, and above all you can make oil from it always sell in the period in which you pay more to obtain a greater profit if you use the worker remember to deactivate from the settings that concern the worker and the purchase of diesel, seeds, fertilizers and so on an excellent tool that you can buy at the beginning and the lime spreader, which also acts as a fertilizer, therefore 2 in 1. Always check the yield and bring it, if you can, at most to produce more from your land to add water to greenhouses or animals if you have the possibility collect it from rivers or lakes instead of buying it

Don't spend money on expensive truck tractors or something else but just work on some contracts and get some more money to extend your farm

Start by growing the basics, don't bet on more lucrative crops as they will be difficult to look after and will require more time (wheat or canola are very easy to grow and harvest, it's a great start).

Also, don't spend your money on expensive equipment at the start, it will only slow down your progress. Just buy starter tractors and harvesters, they'll be more than enough for the initial plantings and will allow you to profit more quickly!

One last tip I'd like to give you is to gradually learn about crop cycles and rotations. You don't need to be in such a hurry with this, just learn about the initial ones, which are the ones you'll be working on the most. This topic will help you a lot in the medium term. Keep an eye on the planting and harvesting periods in the calendar and rotate crops at least once (it could be between wheat and canola at first, just alternate!).

Starting with the starter farm and the guide from Gramdpa is a great way to start from new players, it gives you a great format to learn the basics of the game while giving you the tools needed to run a simple farm, allowing you to take your time to get to grips with what you have before slowly expanding your equipment and skills

Start with missions and then take the money and spend it for new and bigger machinery. And after a few days you can start with buy greenhouses for more easy money

My best suggestion is to start ok easy economy on New Farmer with at least 250k money, because I think its a good way to get started and used to all game mechanics and you make food money from your products :)

I have always played with no money cheat so haved to be creative to find ways to make easy money

Missions i found out that u can put AI to work on your mission fields, so bassicaly u dont have to do nothing just wait to worker finish your mission field and collect the money :D
Oat and Little Factory, this way i thing its the most profit for beginning just grow oat and but little grain mill on your land and you can make flour in your farm and sell it with the most profit to some local store
I bought some generators just to keep my balance on profit in winter times new theres noting realy todo :)

Keep in mind that you can't spend so much money, the return always take time, most of the time the game will fill like an investment, and to not go bankrupt you should save money for any unexpected spent that can appear on the way!

And always try to practice your direction, if it is your first Sim, you maybe find it a little hard even the game no having the most complex simulation but it is very distant from any arcade game. Don't feel overwhelmed by it take some time and in a few hours you should have to be able to do most of the activities with no problem.

Invest your first money in a mushroom greenhouse and a water barrel. Grow wheat in all fields and take care of the mushrooms. When you have enough mushrooms, hire a lorry and a loader. Sell the mushrooms and enjoy a very large profit. Sell the relocated mushrooms in December and enjoy even more profit.

Thing about the long game.

Farms don't make money overnight. Initially it should be about finding a mix between contracting and leasing. Utilising leased equipment allows you to double up too, it might be that you lease a mower for example but then see there's a mowing contract. You can save yourself some money on the "borrowing cost" and then return the item after you have completed the contract.

Don't go blowing money on the latest and greatest, it'll be difficult but at the same time very rewarding.

Look to start on greenhouses as soon as possible as a lot of the produce created goes into a number of productions later down the line!

Start small, there is no need for a big tractor on the farm when you first start your adventure. Same goes for the machinery. Once you are building some capital, start upgrading your farm and everything around you.

Start with small machinery and make a progressive update. Do not use cheats in begining, the game will be boring, if u will have everything at the start. Grow your business, start with a small farm where your work on your own and then build up your vehicle and tools arsenal, buy more lands and productions so u can produce more of different stuff. If u have farm big enough, don't be afraid of using AI helper, they can help u do lot of job (not just on fileds, but also delivery).
And ofc, if you are playing the game and don't know what to do, just go with the ingame tutorial and Learn The Basic.

Getting started in any game can be a challenge. Luckily you get campaign options. For any one new to the series i sugest the new farmer option. Where it gives you equipment and land.

You are usually given 2 to 3 fields. Harvest the field that is ready. Usually wheat, then take the harvested grain to the highest paying elevavtor or mill. Then start plowing fields for next year. Usually after plowing you want fertilize and lime your fields to get maximum yields( yield equals profit)

Once plowing is done pick what crop you want to do next. Make sure you can afford the equipment for that crop first. Somtimes you'll have to wait to plant. If that's the case have fun exploring the map or just speed up time!

One way u can save a little money is leaseing equipment. But make sure to slow down time to real life and return the equipment when work is complete because you pay by the day on it.

So in this new Gorgeous Farming simulator 25 I can give 5 tips for beginners out there. (ofcrs this after you finish the tutorial ) :

If you choose "New farmer" mode after you chose and buy the spot you want, I advise you sell the stuff you don't need in your next few months so if there are machinery you will not use or animals you don't want to deal with at first, just sell them for extra boost in your first year as farmer !
If you really need more money to do what you want, and there is a lot of things in FS 25, don't be afraid to get loan, don't worry at first it's low interest and if you don't pay back you will not lose your real house it's just a game :)
start with basic crops don't go too crazy in your first year, that will give you the time to learn more and with 0 stress
when you buy make sur you read the description of what you are buying that will save you time and in game money
If you don't like the realism in FS 25 feel free to go in the settings and turn those off, that will give you more freedom and time to learn the more complex stuff, so after you become a brother/sister farmer you will enjoy realism a lot !

Farming Simulator 25 has added a lot of features and expanded on others from the past. One of these features, collectibles, has returned and is a great way to get a pile of cash fast. Riverbend has 25 collectibles all over the map worth $10,000 each. Hunting all these down is great way to explore the map, see all the beautiful sites, and pad that bank account! I recommend when starting a new game explore the map and see what you can find.

Just play the game at your own pace ! Make sure every purchase you make in the beginning is within your budget and is a valuable purchase with ROI . Contracts are a great way to minimize the hurt of any purchase or investment ! Not ideal for all players but buying fields and harvesting them and selling them right after is a nice practice for newer players !

If you place the Bale Storage, you cant pull bales out, cause they spawning in th the Trigger. But if you park a tractor or something in the Trigger, you can pull bales out.

I'll tell you what I wish they'd told me when I first played haha

Beginner mode: Choose “New Farmer” mode to start playing, don't be proud!

Sell if necessary: Consider selling some machines or even animals that you don't plan to use yet, it's okay to explore the game a lot.

Growing crops: In the beginning I like to focus on simple crops, such as wheat and corn, and easy-to-maintain structures, such as mushroom greenhouses.

Contracts and rents: When you need something for a specific contract, rent a machine, reduce the cost of the rental and return it when you've completed the job.

Soil care and crop rotation: Remember the sequence: Harvest -> plough -> fertilize -> apply lime. By remembering this, your harvest will be incredible, my dear farmer friend.

Don't spend on buildings, focus on maximum yield (), first buy as many fields as possible and then increase the mechanization, rent machines if you don't want to use them often, save the crop and wait for the best price, sheep and chickens don't have much to worry about and I can give nice profit. Over time, focus on production and grow as much as you can process.

As some people here mention, please don't spend all the money on expensive machinery or new machinery, you can wait for sales, don't sell all the grain as soon as you harvest it, unless there is a great demand for that grain you are harvesting, you can get a good price from selling it when the price is high (you can check the prices tab) or invest it in production chains and earn good money for that, also, contracts are a great way to get some extra cash as well! The choice is yours!

There is plenty of beginner tips videos and comments out there on what to do or what animals, crops, productions do. But the best beginner tip I can recommend is play the game to your enjoyment. Do not let other players or content creators convince you of playing a certain way. If you want to begin with a lot of money on easy mode so that you can get big equipment or buy all the productions go for it. If you want to do a start with absolutely nothing got for it. Want to be a contract farmer try it out. If you want to feel like a personal small farmstead with old equipment or tough it out with a small budget go for it. The game is meant to be played how you like or how you want. Start multiple saves, as many as you want. Don’t let others make the game a drag for you. Relax and farm on!

1: as others stated dont buy the big machines to start.

2: do the tutorial with grandpa and talk with the other NPC. this will help you understand how to manage your farms.

3: find the mods. the community makes alot of awesome mods and can be extremely fun to play with.

4: sit back and relax. thats what its all about.

First of all, buy a harvester, seeder, trailer, seeds, fertilizer, one small tractor, one SUPER tractor... since you definetly wink wink need it and a plow. Then you buy land and harvest the crops if there are any, if not you plant wheat or oat depending on the month and do that a couple of times until you can start with greenhouses etc and keep on expanding until you have a food monopoly in riverbend springs.

Ich starte immer erst mit Missionen, da man durch Missionen erstens die Maschiene wenn man ein Neuling ist so besser kennenlernt was man wofür braucht, zudem spart es eine menge Geld am Anfang wenn man die Maschien durch die Aufträge bekommt, zweitens am Anfang leihe ich die Maschenen nur da sie Kostengunstiger sind als wenn man sie Kauft, man spart Sprit, Reperatur,Lackie und Unterhaltskosten, ausserdem kann man so alles mal testen und schauen was man sie am Ende kauft.

One of the biggest tips for starting any Farm Simulator version, setup your graphics to what looks best to you. When you are in the initial "options" menu, select graphics.

The first menu is not the only options you have. For PC you can hit the space bar in FS25 and it will bring you to an advanced graphics menu.

In this advanced menu you can now adjust everything from shadows to view ranges. You can also select the graphics tools you want to use on your PC.

For console this won't be as in depth, however you can still fine tune some of the sharpness and brightness.

Start at the tutorial. This gives you the basics of the game. I also recommend starting the flour production and bread production early on, as this will give you income coming in. I would also suggest putting some solar panels up to get the passive income from that. Don’t go buying the most expensive equipment as the smaller equipment is just as good to start. Sure bigger is better but if you can’t afford it, don’t take a loan in the game so you can buy it cause the goal is to be profitable and not be in debt.

Most importantly, remember to have fun in the game and have a laugh at all the silly weirdness and mistakes you make.

When not only trying to make money, but save money, wait to buy fields until they are already "ready to harvest". Buy them at the "ready to harvest" stage so this way you are making the most money back on your purchase right off the rip.

Also, sowing contracts require you to purchase your own seed - which lowers the overall profit from those contracts.

Use the contracts to your advantage. You can lease great equipment for just a tad of the total price, and they give you what you need to get the job done now.
