Suggest a book to film adaptation (even if its already been done) but Nicholas Cage is the lead (playing a man, woman or child) and he has to act in the most Nick cage way possible.

JB

I'd have to go for:

'Suggest the most ridiculous movie you could cast Rowan Atkinson in as the lead and explain why it would be so hilarious'

I mean he's a great comedic actor and it's his facial expressions that make it what it is. The thought of him being dropped into a really serious role or the role of a fierce dictator in an action movie would be brilliant!

(Resubmitting because it didn't show up as a Bounty Entry)

I’d be interested to hear what remakes JA folks enjoy more than the original series/film. Lot’s of fans are very defensive of the original material and that is fine, but I genuinely believe certain remakes perfected the formula.

My specific example is the 2010 I Spit On Your Grave remake of the Camille Keaton classic. In the original, the revenge kills were all a bit slapdash, but in the remake, all the men who wronged her were taken out in themed manners which ironically recreated all the ways they wronged/violated her. I felt it was a fantastic addition to the formula.

As for how they are judged, I honestly don’t know how current bounties are judged, so I’d leave that to the JA team.

  1. Which book or video game would you make a movie or tv series about?

  2. Recast a movie you think could have had better lead actors.

  3. If they were about to make a movie from your life, who would you cast as yourself and who would be the director?

  4. Who was your first film celebrity crush? (let's admit we all have at least one)

  5. If you had the chance to meet your favourite actor, who was it and how were they like? Was it a cool experience or a disappointment?

  6. Are you a boxset collector? Show us your collection!

  7. If you watch movies from other countries do you prefer them dubbed to your language or use subtitles?

  8. Best anime series of all times

  9. Have you been to any midnight or special screenings? How was the experience and why did you decide to go?

  10. Who is the best movie soundtrack composer and why? Which of their works is your favourite (this could go under the music space as well)

  11. Are there any movies or series you re-watch every year or at certain occasions?

I think a cool bounty could be recreate your favourite scene from a film or TV show using any form of media.

Submission would be video or photography.

People could use anything they want, the stranger the better but some suggestions, but not limited to, would be lego, acting it out, by using tabletop models (Warhammer, D&D, etc), drawn or modelled in computer modelling software.

I have a 40 gallon tote full of lego… my mind is already REELING thinking about the possibilities

Funnily enough, we have this scheduled for the very near future.

Whilst I like Damiens list as it where, I think some more, interesting ones should be added. Let's get a little, personal.

  1. What film made you cry the most?

  2. What film can you directly relate to?

  3. What actor played a role in a film/TV show, you felt connected to?

  4. What film do you think is the most romantic of all time?

  5. What film is the most action-packed of all time?

  6. If you could create/direct a film, tell us about it

  7. What film has a moment that made you literally hold your breath?

  8. What film, scared the living hell out of you and why?

Etc etc.

Just About the Director's Cut

Concept:

Participants are invited to take a well-known film or TV series and describe how they would alter it if they were the director. This could involve changing the plot, adding a twist, altering character arcs, or even creating an alternative ending. The challenge is to maintain the essence of the original while introducing a significant change that would alter the viewer's experience.

Entry Format:

Submissions can be in the form of a written synopsis, a video pitch (like a director explaining their vision), or a series of storyboard sketches. Participants should explain their choices and how these changes would impact the overall story or message of the film or TV episode.

Here are some examples of this bounty idea:

  • Reimagining a romantic comedy with a different pairing.

  • Adding a science fiction element to a historical drama.

  • Creating an unexpected plot twist in a famous thriller.

This bounty would encourage participants to think critically about storytelling and character development, offering a unique way to engage with their favorite films and TV shows.

  1. Who is your favourite director, and why?

  2. What's the biggest film or TV show award snub, in your opinion?

  3. What's the perfect starter film or TV series to introduce someone to [genre]? For what it's worth, anime was my first instinct here since it's still niche (compared to other categories).

  4. What's the film you hate the most?

  5. Which sequel completely outdid the original, and why?

  6. What's the best interview with a cast or crew you've ever seen?

  7. Which streaming services do you subscribe to and why?

  8. What screen size is perfect for home viewing? (could be Tech instead)

  9. Watching movies on your phone: yay or nay?

  10. What's the perfect movie run-time length for you, and why?

  11. Describe your favourite film/TV series in [amount] words or less. We'll even guess it in the comments.

  12. Describe your favourite film/TV series using [amount] of emojis. We'll even guess it in the comments.

  13. Give an elevator pitch for the ultimate sequel. We're looking for no more than three sentences, one for each act.

Just off the top of my head.

Hmm, this formatting bugged because I used an indented bullet point (number 4 should be indented below 3, not a separate number).

Some very nice ideas here. Funnily enough, we also thought of the 'What's the perfect starter film or TV series to introduce someone to a genre?' - with anime as the first pick.

This doesn't surprise me. I'm an alum of the school of Rich Scott-Jones, so there'll absolutely be crossovers!

It would be cool to have a bounty where people have to describe their favourite film in ridiculously simple terms eg: if your favourite film was The Shining: creepy hotel makes man insane and he chases his wife around (only example i could think of right now hehe)

Part of winning the bounty could also be based in how easily people guess the film you're describing :)

Alex Sinclair's avatar

I like this. We were actually planning something similar: three word movie descriptions, e.g. "Jack dull boy". But there's no reason we couldn't do both! Would you include any other rules such as a maximum word count or only allowing words of two syllables?

mar1gold 's avatar

oooo maybe having only one syllable words could be funny! like that card game poetry for neanderthals :)
