This one is an interesting science fact and completely ruins one of the most popular Disney movies.

In certain species of fish, if the female dies, the biggest male will change gender to female in order to ensure the offspring are properly looked after.

A clown fish is one of these fish, making 'Finding Nemo' and the story of his Dad tracking him down not possible, as he would have transitioned to female and become Nemo's mum long before the events of Nemo getting lost!

This is my favourite fun fact to freak people out a little!

My biggest annoyance was "Avengers End Game" Doctor Strange

The bottom line is, that Doctor Strange could have wound back time, whatever move Thanos made because of the time stone, it was a huge glaring plot hole and really annoyed me. Like super annoyed me, he could have stopped Thanos' dead when he came to earth because he could have wound back time and then the Avngers would know exactly when and where and could have easily killed/stopped him.

Rant Off lol

I really feel this one!😆 I love time-travel content, but it's always really messy. The reality stone makes this infinitely worse! Thanos could have shifted reality so the time stone was powerless, or to imbue a single stone with all (and more) powers.

The video below isn't related to Marvel and it is a bit mind bending, but it does talk about this sort of thing. The most relevant bit starts at around 6 mins 45 seconds, but I do recommend checking the whole thing out!

Oh Pacific Rim really irritated me with this scene!

Seriously, you cannot swing a container ship like a sword. It would crumple and tear apart under those stresses.

Oh and why would a robot that functions like an exosuit require 2 human brains to operate? All it is doing is mimicking movements.

As a mech-warrior fan, my husband absolutely hates this about Pacific Rim but I just shove popcorn in my face and tell him to let me enjoy the smashy-smashy

That not one single person tried to shoot captain america in the legs.

The plot holes in "The Creator 2023" are hard to overlook. While I usually brush off minor discrepancies in movies, discussing them briefly before moving on, this film felt like one giant plot hole to me. I'm going to share some non-spoiler thoughts on it.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11858890/

What baffles me the most is the depiction of an AI-supportive country (presumably China) and its seeming lack of support for its citizens. The movie portrays a group of AI evangelists as rebels within their own country, seemingly fighting for ideals that align with the majority and most importantly - the government. Yet, paradoxically, these characters live in rudimentary conditions (bamboo huts) and walk armed, while the regular country population, sharing similar views, live normally in cities without any need for secrecy. This central contradiction forms the backbone of the plot, yet the film fails to justify it. There are other severe issues too, but delving into them would mean venturing into spoiler territory.

I saw the trailer for this but it passed me by. Despite the plot holes, do you think it's worth going back and watching it?

Sturmer's avatar

I rarely do this, as I always look for a positive perspective, but this time, as an exception: do not waste 2 hours of your life.

Boomer's avatar

That's fair, I respect trying to find the positives 🙂 Then again time is precious and recommendations can really help!

When I was a kid, my dad totally ruined Toy Story for me.

You know how in the movie, every toy freezes up and acts like it's just a regular toy whenever a human walks in? Well, that includes Buzz, who's all about being a space ranger and not a toy.

But here's the thing: later in the movie, we see toys moving around and talking to humans. So, if Buzz really thought he was a space ranger, couldn't he just, like, not fall down? It's not like a built-in feature for toys to fall down in the presence of a person, so how can we explain Buzz freezing? There's probably a Pixar conspiracy theory explaining it somewhere.

I think we could all say Titanic. Omg, why didn’t he just get on the door with her???? There was PLENTY enough room for both of them.

She could’ve scoot over a bit to let him on right there. This still makes me so irritated lol

Horror films, even the highly regarded ones, are rife with plot holes. It’s hard to pick just one, but the one which bothers me the most is in Signs.

Aliens which are violently allergic to even just the touch water, and don’t wear any sort of environmental gear or armor, decide to invade a planet which is over 70% water.

Alex Sinclair's avatar

Ha! That is a strange choice.

This is the plot hole I used to tell myself over and over again to make myself fall asleep after being scarred to this day by Signs.

I love Signs because it can still make the hair in my neck stand up. I just try not to let the details drag me down haha.

There are so many, but I have to agree with Jenna on the Titanic one. There was enough space there! He could have climbed up, come on! Just to do it for the sake of the drama is very cheap. They could have used a narrower item instead of the door to truly make us believe there was no space there.

I don't think it was space that kept Jack off the door. I think he was thinking that it would sink under the surface with their combined weight.

The cold water was the killer and Jack wanted to give her the chance to dry off.

A major plot hole for me is the rushed start of Dune, which lacks proper introduction to the complex world, factions, and characters. More contextual setup could have better prepared viewers unfamiliar with the source material to fully appreciate the story's depth and significance.
