I always hear bottled water but surely there has got to be way more like maybe ATMs that charge you to access your money or something?

I'm assuming scam meaning 'not worth the price that is paid'.
For premium items like Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, and Five Guys I agree that it is a tad bit overpriced but I also appreciate that it tastes somewhat premium over a store bought donut, coffee, and fast food burger so I don't really consider them a scam per se though your mileage may vary. I consider them a more high end version of their cheaper counterpart so I'm willing to pay the premium for it.
KBBQ I jokingly call it a scam because it's pricey and yet you gotta do the cooking yourself.
I've not investigated it too much but I guess Temu stuff and drop shipping adverts on socials are scams since you can often find it cheaper elsewhere.
Probably toilets in public that you gotta pay to use that are poorly maintained or queue jumps/ fast passes at airports.
Your YouTube channel?
"legs it"
On a serious note
For me, it's always "premium memberships" of which you literally gain nothing of value, so check this, my PureGym membership is "premium" and all I get out of it is, that I can bring someone for free to the gym four times a month and free flavoured water....
Hyper Scam!
I used to be with Pure Gym and I used to be on a 24/7 contract but since Salford is a little bit more spenny I had to go for the off-peak time.
Premium for any gym membership is a bit too much for me since I don't usually go for the classes
Yeh, I don't do classes but I do go late at night so 24/7 GYM is perfect for me, I'm a bit fat so I tend to feel self conscious surrounded by musclebound people lol
You're in good company my friend. I used to be a little scrawny manlet wondering inbetween the machines and free weights so I felt super self-conscious. Now I just want to get in and out ASAP to enjoy the rest of my day so I don't bother with looking at others unless they're on a machine I use.
Keep at it my friend!
I've recently started going to the gym and have the same issue lol. Never seems to be anyone there that is unfit and trying to get into shape like me!
Yeh this is why I go at night. Some of the looks I get I’m like oh cmon I’m here arnt I trying lol
[Insert "Daaamn!" Meme here]
Trololololol
Generic-brand electronics/accessories on Amazon are pretty scammy in my opinion. All kinds of things: mobile accessories, computer accessories, electronic like fans, cooking equipment etc. It's pretty much always available on eBay and other outlets for a fraction of the price. People just go to Amazon out of habit. If you could be bothered to search for the same stuff elsewhere you might have to wait a few days longer to get the stuff, but you'd save tonnes of money.
Latest example, is a USB car charger adapter thing - it ended up being like £2 off eBay, and would have been almost £10 on Amazon.
Now That's a spicy meat ball!
I'm gonna give a real hot take and say Electric Vehicles and a lot of the 'renewable energy' schemes. Let me explain;
First of all, electric vehicles are incredibly destructive to the environment to make, specifically the cobalt used in the batteries. Often mined by very young children for little to no pay. Said batteries can't be disposed of, they don't biodegrade and if you want to replace them..you'll probably need another mortgage.
As for charging them? They're charged (in most cases) via the grid which in turn is powered by fossil, nuclear or hydro electricity, which even then needs fossil fuel to run the generators and plants. They're also extremely difficult for fire departments to handle when they catch fire, because they can reignite very easily. Some have adopted the use of specialised blankets to smother them with.
If you're charging them via one of those hubs, those are likely powered by fossil fuel burning generators. So it really begs the question. If the grid is strained enough to need brownout plans in place how on earth could it handle everyone using an electric vehicle? It couldn't, therefore in my opinion..electric vehicles are a scam that everyone buys into.
Windmills and solar panels face similar problems, windmills provide a tiny percentage of renewable energy and require specialist engineers being paid extremely high salaries to maintain them and they generally last 20-30 years. They also aren't made from recyclable material.
Same for solar panels, they have a limited lifespan and are difficult to dispose of safely, if I remember correctly, there's toxic elements in the panels themselves.
I'm not saying renewable energy doesn't have merit, it does and it's something we should be looking into but what we're being sold right now, is not the product many think it is and isn't sustainable in the long-run. Even if it MAY have some short-term benefits, that's not the kind of scale we need to be looking at.
Since you already had the bottle water.
Toiletpaper.
-> would you wipe shit of your face with some paper?
Thanks comming to my talk.
I completely agree with the sentiment that toilet paper alone isn't enough to clean a dirty orifice but to compare your butthole to your face or another part of the body isn't a fair comparison.
Unlike your hand, face or anything above the waist, the butt is almost always clothed and kept out of sight and only really serves one purpose. Your hands and face on the other hand serves many different purposes therefore should be kept as clean as possible. In fact, there is a whole industry dedicated to making your face clean and presentable with toner, moisturizer, UV protection etc.
Do you think there would be so much of an industry for your butt hole?
Yes, do you know they serve napkins in the resturant.
Like usally i need to go to the toilet to wash my hands.
Kicking the door open because, why should i touch the handle.
Btw. Pro-Life-Tip. Wash you hands before you touch you wee-wee and than after it.
We don´t want to make it more dirty than it should be :P
and only really serves one purpose.
Butt Stuff, I knew it.
I am so K-L-U-K.
(German for Klug, but wrongly written)
I come from a village.. you know how short your life is in a village?
There is no time to clean your hands, the sandy crush in your mouth is the confirmation of childhood something :P.
Also there is this 5 Seconds rule for food on the Ground :)
You just compared a napkin to toilet paper..
They made out of cotton, you get them cold or warm.
I miss them here in the Resturants.
Buying a TOTO toilet was one of the best things I've ever done...
Can´t wait to have them everywhere in europe.
I seriously never understood how there are houses without a bidet... Every time I go to Italy, it's a sigh or relief that finally I'm in a "developed" country. And I'm not even from a country where it's that popular, but I would have assumed that Western countries will all have it since Italy does.
A new iPhone if you have one less than 5 years old! You are just being scammed as really there isn't a massive difference with the devices!! Also I'd say luxury makeup and high end skincare - there are tons of cheaper products out there that most of the time are made in the same factory!
Microtransactions in a non free game.
Youv paid for it, you give more money to access things that should already be available and most people defend the practice because "Its just cosmetic bro"
Its not ok, imagen buying a car and having to pay extra for paint, carpet, or fabric on the seats because....its cosmetic.
Hey Paul, I appreciate the effort to pull this back a bit but we believe it's best to remove the image. We wouldn't necessarily moderate the word you self-censored on its own, but even censored the image implies falls short of the Community Code of Conduct.
For UK folks: TV license
As a foreigner, honestly what is this nonsense? If you pay for TV with any provider BT, Sky or whatever, that price should include everything you need. Why do you need to go and pay something separately?
The idea behind it is that by having a tax for it, there's no need to let advertisement and commercial viability dictate what is aired, but either way I agree. I haven't had a TV license for the last 15 years and have been perfectly happy to watch DVDs, blurays, and streaming services since then. The only downside is that you also need one to watch BBC iPlayer.
I haven't watched TV since I was 16. Watched the iplayer a couple of times when I moved here, and when they introduced the license for it too, that's when I even learnt that it exists and was absolutely shocked. I get it that it was made to support the BBC so they don't need adverts. But what is you don't watch BBC at all? Even if you watch non UK television via satellite they want you to pay this. So if it's a mandatory thing for everyone watching any sort of telly they should just simple incorporate it into the package to pay. Like line rental is part of your internet package.
Same stupid thing like Ticketmaster listing a ticket price, but then adding 2-3 mandatory fees on top. Like if I had a choice to pay those or not. Fine, break down the ticket price so people can see what is included on it, but don't advertise something at a certain price if I must pay other fees on top to get that product.
Imagine if airlines listed the ticket price and when you click buy you find out that you also have to pay the airport tax which is often higher price than the actual fare you pay to the airline. People would riot.
