I've been in the creative community a long time now and have seen this happen so many times.

I am so grateful for my support network, especially my chosen family to keep me in check.

It is hard to be our authentic selves in a community but the environment needs to be non-toxic from the beginning and setting healthy boundaries is a huge important part of that.

I'm glad you've got a support network around you. They're so important in feeling able to be your authentic self. What's I found is it's important for them to support the parts of your identity that are healthy while helping you recognise the parts that are self- or socially harmful.

People often struggle to accept the second part, the self- or socially harmful parts, and that can lead to conflict rather than personal growth.

Thank you ☺️

Yeah that is very true and I am very grateful that I am incredibly self-aware.
