The difference between “Participant” and “Submission” Could someone explain please? When submitting for a reward. Please explain someone with the “curated” tag, how do they obtain that?

Just About
"Submission" is what shows when it's a new entry that hasn't been reviewed. "Participant" is when the submission has been reviewed and, while it met all the criteria of the Reward, wasn't chosen as a "Winner."
I believe "Curated" is a mark staff put on when they plan to use your Reward submission in a curated post later on. That's entirely up to the Just About staff.

thanks for clearing that up, i was wondering, i thought perhaps incentivised creators were ineligible to receive prizes or something like that, fdev started an incentive program not so long ago, and i thought that might be it. thanks again

Any submission can be used in a curated post, a subimisssim marked as curated is a post that stand out from the others, for exemple, in rewards with top 3 podium, all the top 3 winners gain the curated mark
Oh I got a curated stamp on one without podiums so I figured it was their way of “saving it for later” for curated articles

Yeah it's nice. Getting moved to the top of the page is pretty slick too haha
You're right that Curator's Pick is when a staff member marks your submission out as particularly excellent, which means it has won a reward but also it'll show at the top of the list of winners with a nice rosette for everybody to see!
