Contest: Create a cinematic short film within Mortal Shell II!

From the combat to the vistas to the atmosphere, Mortal Shell II has a distinct cinematic feel to it. Your challenge is to take that cinematic quality and turn it into a genuine bit of cinema. We think there’s potential for some really great-performing content here, so we encourage you to take your time, plan carefully, and make something with an emotional punch. See ‘reward details’ for more info.

We encourage you to make your short film using your gameplay clips, cutscenes, and your own narration. Remember, short films, like short stories, don’t need to explain everything: sometimes less is more, and sometimes it’s okay to leave your audience with questions unanswered. Your story doesn’t have to have a neat beginning, middle, and end, but it does need to feel ‘story shaped’. In other words, it should draw viewers in, build tension, and lead to a dramatic climax.

Base your short story - as much as possible - within Mortal Shell II’s existing lore, though feel free to expand on it too. Your short story should be a minimum of four minutes, though you’re more than welcome to go longer!

Important: Our partner for these rewards is specifically in charge of distribution of the physical edition of the game. As such, all entries must include either a link to the physical game, promo art for the physical game, a mention of the physical release, and/or (best yet): a photo you’ve taken of the physical PS5 disk/case.
