This is what popped into my mind first. Spike Jonze directed and did some wonderful editing to make it all work together. The tone and lyrics fit the video great, and somehow this one video captured who Weezer was at the time.

The fun attitude of their videos continued through the last 30 years.

I love this video, I remember it came on the Windows 95 disc and it was so cool. I used to love Happy Days as a kid, too

Completely agree.

...if you like Spike, you probably also like Gondry, no? I give you his treatment of Cibo Matto's 'Sugar Water': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN9auBn6Jys

Stone Sour - Through Glass

It's a music video that always stuck with me. Initially, it was the wow factor of the special effects, seeing real people turn into cardboard seamlessly, followed by an entire swimming pool. It boggled my mind as to how this was possible back in 2006, and even holds up to this very day.

As I got older, the deeper message hit me harder: fake people with no depth constantly networking to project a certain image, increase wealth, and buy empty things. It walls the wealth and leaves most people on the outside looking in, as Corey sings. There's no sense of belonging there, not really. The whole machine still runs today just like it did back then, making it timeless.

Sadly, the official version of the music video is only available in 240p, so I'll provide you with this fan remaster to showcase its glory:

For This one I am going to go with the video “Stacy’s mom” - I think at the time is really nailed the generation mark in terms of content etc.

Plus let’s be honest it was an amazing video and song. I I’ll add a link in soon

Such a silly music video (am I meant to believe these men are high school age? hehe) but it's so fun! It comes across as really heartfelt and as a kid whenever this video would come on I would watch it over and over

I have two to throw into the ring! Firstly, because this one is embedded in my brain from first seeing it on The Chart Show back in the 90s.

The colour, the concept, the creepiness, it's all there and it's hard not to forget it once you've seen it.

And my second choice just because I think it's a stunning video and it was always told that once the video was done D'arcy kept the original theatre scenes and props in a barn that she owned!

This is going to be an incredibly mainstream answer, but seeing how this song is freshly RIAA Diamond Certified now, I have to mention it. This means it has sold ten. Million. Times. And that's just in the US of A!

Many will think of LP as an emo rock band, but as someone who's been with them since the first album and various non-rock projects, this band means a lot more to me. They introduced me to hip-hop (Yes, really.), turntablism, the concept of mixtapes, and art. My favorite LP album isn't even a regular studio album. There is so much more to this band than what most people think, but this is one of the songs that started it all. In The End.

RIP Chester Bennington

Is your favourite album Reanimation by any chance?

I know the lyrics scream emo, but the music was nu metal through and through on the first two albums. They were seminal in my growth as a teen. While I can't say I'm a massive fan of all the styles they explored, I'm an advocate of changing things up and experimenting. It was nice to see them try new things.

Sometimes mainstream answer is one epic answer. This is my favourite song from them and love the music video as well!

Slipknot - Duality

For the best music videos in rock history, my current pick is 'Duality' by Slipknot. Indeed, it's aggressive and intensely energetic, but what captivates me is how it encapsulates the dynamic exchange of energy between the band and their fans in an incredibly tight space.

This video captures the essence of a live concert experience so vividly that, despite having never been to one of their concerts, it makes me feel like I was there. It perfectly conveys that unique intimacy you get in a crowded space at a live show, where you feel a deep connection to the music and everyone around you, regardless of your distance from the stage. 'Duality' beautifully immortalizes that unique sensation, illustrating the bond between artists and their audience.

You will never see a better music video than The Pretender by Foo Fighters.

I wish I felt the same. To me, it just felt like a more sophisticated version of Green Day's American Idiot. I'm biased, though, since American Idiot was so overplayed in my youth that I began to dislike it.

So simply done but so so good is The Verve's music video for Bitter Sweet Symphony. I dont know why but him just walking and bumping into people is really entertaining, and impactful. Great song also!

I'm a big fan of the Beach Boys. A great song and always had a funny music video! Just shows how far music videos have come with production. This was always a bit weird and wacky! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apBWI6xrbLY

Definitely the best Nickelback music video, but I would even nominate it for best music video of all times. First it doesn't look anything special, then as the story unfolds you just sit there asking what the hell is happening? Then when the music perfectly aligns at THAT PART (if you haven't seen it, just watch it) and it all starts to make sense:

if you look past the quality of the cgi, this video actually tells a beautiful yet tragic story. It’s definitely one of my favorites
