I hope to in the future when I get my time scheduled better! I have a huge desire to make some future house music / EDM on Fruity Loops for example! Had tried messing about with garage bang but had no clue what I was doing, mainly because I have not yet learned how to piece a track together which would probably be a good start point for a newbie like me!

What do you create? Do you have a soundcloud page or publish your creations anywhere?

L

That's cool. I would be in the same boat with that style of music , I have no idea when it comes to drum loops.. I do have N akai mini synth which would be useful for that genre.

It's mainly guitars, bass and synths and vocals between the two of us on logic. With inbuilt drums.

No SoundCloud for the personal projects but the ep demos for the band are out on Spotify.. as I say though many production improvements to be made.

For anyone interested in getting into Garageband or Logic this YouTube channel is great.

There is a playlist called "The Ultimate Garageband Beginner's Guide" that is a great place to start.

I do a fair amount of recording and production of my own music! I use FLStudio for any sequencing and the Reaper as my DAW for mixing and stuff. I've got a four track mixer that I run everything through into my laptop for recording

L

As mentioned to others. Sounds like people here would like to listen to anything you have to share 👍

Sure! It's all on Bandcamp and Spotify, as well as all the other streaming places if you search for God Ribbon

I’ve forgotten everything about what I learned in Music Theory, but I play guitar (carpal tunnel keeps me from playing for long, though). I have an acoustic nylon string and I’ve recorded a few things I’ve written in the hope to use them as background music for narrations of stories I’ve written.

I use a Shure SM58 through a Mackie ProFX6x3 when I record songs on my guitar.

L

Bet that has a nice authentic sound recording it that way!!! Sounds like people here are up for listening if you have anything to share

Oh yes, the sound is super nice. The SM58 is a fantastic mic and adding in the fine tuning of a mixer let's me get everything from guitar to voice just right.

They are just super simple ambient loops to convey different narrative tones, but I could share them eventually haha

100% up for this! - pop the files up somewhere, and I will take a look!

I use reaper, and a variety of midi software packages (for drums, and keys, and ambience), and play guitar, and bass.

L

Will do, I use logic but can export a project as file that can be added as a track in anything

What would be cool is if we do a chain song. One person records a guitar track and uploads it. Next person adds drums and uploads it. Next vocals. Next synth or loops, etc.

Or we have a thread/bounty where the OP uploads a set of lyrics or a vocal track and each person makes it into their own song.

I might be a little too shy to actually participate, but I think this is a fantastic idea and I'd watch the heck out of it.

Rich for visibility

L

Nah we definitely need your nylon ambient loops! That could be a great base for some bass and drums

👀 better raid the attic for that midi drum kit I half-restored during lockdown 🥁

L

HI sorry for the delay. I threw together two styles. and i can take parts out like drums and guitars if anyone wants a go at them. and send them as stems.

These are like a laid back rock and more grunge. but i could do some that are just one element, like a looped guitar or something more chilled
