The Red Paintings - Australian band, lead by a chap called Trash McSweeney - you will struggle to find much of their stuff online as they have removed it as an eff you to the music industry - they have vowed to only sell physical formats now.

Very difficult to draw comparisons for them as a band, but 100% if you get a chance to see them they will not disappoint.

Think indie-rock doused with some child-like lullabies with some punk infused guitar riffs served up with a violin, cello, bass and drums all set to a backdrop of local artists painting on blank canvasses from the first note of the show. They have costumes, concept art and human canvasses on stage and more visuals and sound than you can shake a stick at.

Definitely one to try and catch live - and you will ask yourselves how are these guys not massive.

Awesome, thanks very much. I'll have a dig through the internet and see if I can find anything that's survived the great removal.

no problemo!- very scant on material online - hopefully you got a taster as to what they are about / like / akin to! - definitely one that missed the break!

Karnivool are an awesome band from Australia. I've seen them at the O2 in Birmingham and Dowload a few times, but I don't know many people that have heard of them!

Their wiki says they're inspired by Deftones (what do you think Cass?) and Tool, and I recommend checking out these two songs😊

  • Themata - first song I heard

  • Deadman - my favourite song of theirs
