New ranked system
I think that smite 2 is in a unique and challenging design position for balance changes. On one hand you have changes that feel natural like Ymir being able to build crit, and on the other hand you have the strength/intel split that can confuse the core design of some gods. With the split building away from classes and more towards lane roles with strength acting as the attack damage part but not always but not always building into the traditional attack damage role. I’m very interested to see how future changes to intelligence and strength items as well as tweaks to scaling effect how smite 2 is approached.
Most excited by the new engine the move to Unreal5 allowing Smite to get rid of alot of the quirks, improve development time/quality and include features that may not have been possible before

I like the new God kit changes
More Competition, with reliable servers to support it. An opportunity to attract new eyes on the game has appeared, the servers are supposedly being primed to be able to hold a million concurrent players, the game is starting on all major platforms so no version discrepancies like old smite had for a few years. With a good ad campaign and consistent work , SMITE 2 can not only revive its player base while adding new players but also establish a solid framework for competitive play through ranked and e-sports from amateur to pros.
I can already imagine a lan being streamed with great players playing a great looking game with amazing visuals / performance. Outplays that weren't possible in smite 1 occurring constantly wowing the crowd and inspiring the next gamer to up their skill to one day compete alongside the best.
