The first thing that came to my mind and one of the biggest upsets in football history has to be Leicester City winning the Premier League for the first ever back in the 2015-16 season. Absolutely no one had them to win and was a gigantic shock when they did the unthinkable. There's nothing like seeing a underdog win, that's the stuff that's the most exciting. One for the history books and may be the biggest achivement for that club, ever.

Knew this would be one of the submissions! Was going to reference it in the description but didn't want to give away any hints, hah. I had a friend at university in Leicester when they won it and he said the city was pure bedlam for weeks on end.

As a massive fan of Ice Hockey. The story would be the New Jersey Devils winning the 1995 Standley Cup.

When they came into the 95 NHL Play-Offs as a fifth seed, they really struggled during the early end of it, the lockout-shortened, they pushed through tougher teams in the eastern conference to hit the Stanley Cup Finals, but literally, everyone referred to this as "luck" and not skill.

Once they challenged the president's trophy-winning Detroit Red Wings, the swept them aside with a 4-0 and took home the win.

Beginning of my "uh ah i like this" EVE AT Stuff.

We didn't had enough people to always have 10. Somebody was always missing even if there was a fixed date upfront about it. But anyway you can win 7vs10 or 6vs10 just be better <3

6Vs10 (Cambion Edition)

So this is my personal underdog story for digital sports in EVE. As less than 10 peeps showed up, i need to skip my 10 peeps comps and go into a undermanned comps but still using ALL the points but keep the possible DPS to break anything instead of investing it into anykind of logi.

CALDARI, Pure Buffer DPS Fit…. and dit it work?

One of my favorite underdog stories in sports comes from the world of mountain biking—Brandon Semenuk's incredible journey in freeride MTB. Semenuk started young, entering a field dominated by seasoned professionals. He faced the typical challenges of any newcomer, especially in a sport as demanding and competitive as freeride mountain biking.

What makes his story so inspiring is not just his youth but his determination to excel in a discipline that requires both creativity and nerve. Against the odds, Semenuk's innovative riding style and relentless pursuit of perfection quickly set him apart. He went on to claim victory at major competitions such as the Red Bull Rampage and multiple Crankworx events.

From an underdog to a leading influencer in the sport, Semenuk's journey is an example of how determination can lead to dominating the global stage, making him a true inspiration for anyone facing their own giants.

2004's epic underdog story has been mentioned in the description for this bounty, but let's not forget the other improbable underdog tale in 2004.

Greece miraculously took home the Euro 2004 title, beating Portugal and France in the process. An outcome no one saw coming and is often not the most talked about event of that tournament. People often mention the Portugal-England penalty shootout and Ronaldo's cheeky wink after Portugal knocked out England.

Greece had a tricky group, but still managed to draw with Spain and beat Portugal to progress to the quarters, then wiping out France and Czech Republic before sneaking a 1-0 against Portugal (who were playing on home soil) in the final.

The team, on paper, was certainly not a threat to any of the big guns but they pulled of a number of upsets along the way to EURO glory. A true underdog story and left many thinking 'WTF just happened?!

Your boss things your a B+ Player, the culmination of your end of year review is the same old crap, the old work colleague from 10 years ago has come in and stolen your job

You're the best DAMN wrestler on the planet, you've killed it all year, the crowd have been losing their minds for you week in and week out yet nothing changes

My favourite underdog story is the very real story of Daniel Bryans journey to wrestlemania. After being screwed out of the WWE title MONTH AFTER MONTH AFTER MONTH, the whole wwe universe was annoyed in 2013 & 2014 and he's stuck in a storyline with Bray Wyatt, Bryan breaks out of this story at the Royal Rumble to a THUNDEROUS reaction, that same night everyone expects him to win the Royal Rumble Match, the last entrance, number 30's music hits.. Rey Mysteriom the ultimate fan favourite gets booed out of the building, not because he is a bad guy but because he's not Daniel Bryan

Batista the old washed up wrestler who came out of nowhere steals the royal rumble and steals bryans main event at wrestlemania. Wrestling fans are legit annoyed. Every week Daniel Bryan chants hijack monday night raw and takeover WWE segments. There were literally protests in arena because fans were not happy with the direction WWE was going on. CM Punk leaves WWE, the fans will not accept Batista vs Orton. WWE legitmetly changes the main event of wrestlemania. WWE Fans, about 300 of them hijack the ring in a scripted/shoot segment (real/scripted at the same time) and Bryan gets his change to fight at mania against the Cerebal Assasin, The Game HHH.

Bryan comes out to 70,000 LUNATIC FANS doing the yes chant, he beats HHH in an incredible match. HHH batters him with a chair.

Bryan has to WRESTLE TWICE that night, the opener against hhh and now the main event against mania where batista and randy orton, former members of evolution batter him, put him through a table and bryan is stretchered out

The underdog didn't fight THIS DAMN HARD TO BE STRETCHERED OUT OF AN ARENA, he overcomes all the pain, fights orton and taps out Batista etching one of the greatest wrestlemania moments of all time in History

The miracle on bourbon street, Wrestlemania becomes Yestlemania

Brighton. & Hove Albion - promoted to the premiership in 2017, and gone on to compete in Europe in 2023/4 and be a team capable of beating any side on their day. They've garnered massive respect from the footballing world and have built a club that is highly respected in the local community and globally.

Back in 2011 they were still in League One, before a stint in the Championship and overcoming all kinds of adversity to get to where they are now.

Not to mention they had effectively no stadium of their own between 1997 and 2011 - opting for sharing with Gillingham and hiring a sports complex's pitch.

Gotta Be UFC 1 for me with Royce Gracie, the dude looked not imposing at all, a tall skinny dude in a Gi (karate suit type thing) and he was going to have to fight multiple monsters in one night! It was Wild, I would not have bet a penny on him winning his first fight let alone the whole tournament! Including fighting a guy with only one Boxing glove!? lmao yeah ive no idea what that guy was thinking!

Especially when he faced off against Ken Shamrock. Shamrock was Jacked and had the physique of a body builder with actual MMA skills,he looked like he could rip Royce apart but I was wrong, he was submitted in no time at all.

Not only was this the biggest underdog story ever but it changed the face of mixed martial arts as it showed how useless many forms of martial arts where when the fighter was taken to the ground, they had no clue how to swim in the deep waters which a (brazillian Jiu Jitsu) BJJ practitioner would take them too!

And this was back when the UFC was wild with very little rules and no protective gear! And the referees were pretty useless too!

My favourite underdog story has to be the Brawn F1 team triumph in 2009. Formerly Honda in 2008, bought for a £1 by Ross Brawn, hanging on by a wing and prayer and they only go and win the championship. It’s a remarkable story, and I’d thoroughly recommend reading up on it.
