I hope my mirror-flip able monitor for my teleprompter gets here before this expires because that is going to be my favorite piece of tech for a LONG time

My choice is my DeWalt laser level. Gone are the days of using a spirit level to get every angle correct. And what makes the job even faster is if you have multiple objects to line up . See above! I would totally recommend a laser level to anyone even on a DIY home use level if you regularly take part in projects . And it is a life saver at work as shown in the pictures. The mag surface allows it to attached in various places .

Lasers are excellent. I play a lot of darts and have been eyeing up a laser oche...

This is a great tool indeed! Floor leveling, walls, picture hanging, and even cabinet doors from IKEA are now easy-peasy. I bought a 16-crosses laser from Aliexpress for like 70 bucks.

I just got the Canon Powershot GX7 a few months ago for my holidays and it is such a good little camera. Super powerful and amazing pics. That paired with light room, you can make some really cool edits!

The pokemon go Plus + (yes I typed that right)

If you're anything like me, which you're probably not because I a have spent basically 8 years (bloody hell that's a long time I am realising that whilst typing) non stop playing pokemon go whilst I have been walking, this means I have one hand which is constantly busy pretty much every time I go out and walk. The pokemon go plus + device is an official nintendo device which connects to pokemon go and literally spins pokestops and catches pokemon for you, and you don't even need to have to press a button to catch anything!

Super handy for me

Same here brother, I was running around with my crew on Pokemon Go with the rest of the world when it first came out. I also ended up getting multiple Pokemon Go Plus straps for a birthday one year as well! Thankfully they just ended up going on rotation, once one ran out of battery a new one went on and the other went on charge. Sneakily re-gifted a few too

My newest gadget is the Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. This essential gadget enables the use of my large EF-mount lens collection with my new Canon R8 RF-mount camera. It features a customizable control ring that I can set to adjust the aperture, ISO, or even focus modes on the fly. It's an indispensable tool for photojournalism, allowing for quick adaptations in dynamic shooting environments.

I FINALLY found a monitor the right size for my teleprompter which also has the ability to mirror-flip the image.

Previously when I would write a script for an on-camera video, I had to write it on my computer, email the text to my phone, then use an app on the phone to literally flip the script and use with my prompter. Now with this monitor I can write and record without swapping anything around AND for streaming I can put stream health/chat info on it as it functions just like any other monitor.

This this is awesome and well worth the money if you do any significant streaming/scripted on-camera work.

It's got built in speakers (which aren't blowing anyone's mind, but it's a nice option to have), HDMI/VGA input, tons of picture adjustment options, and resolutions up to 4096x2160. Pretty sweet piece of kit if you already have a prompter.

I was given a very old amazon fire tablet whilst helping a friend move out of their house. It was something that was sitting in a drawer somewhere, dusty and un-used so when it was offered to me, I was a little hesitant as I got enough 'stuff' already. The majority of my 'stuff' was actually books. Books that were bought on a whim or impulse but then only served to occupy an impressive bookcase rather than be read. I find that I'm too precious with my belongings so creases on the spine or bent edges really irk me on paperbacks.

This Amazon Fire tablet was perfect (for this). It was so old that a lot of the apps failed to update, the camera was 2 mega pixel, and good luck loading a webpage on the browser. However it was able to run a simple PDF app which was perfect. I was able to load up my library onto this little device and have the bookshelf in the palm of my hands.

I felt like a kid again, getting ready for bed and then lying awake propped up by my pillows and reading late into the night under bed lamp. It made me enjoy reading again and getting lost in worlds, and the feeling of just one more chapter. It has helped my mental health, helped me relax myself before bed, and finally tackle a long overdue guilt of buying things and not using them. I'm buying far fewer books because of this which is really nice for my wallet and my living space.

My fave new gadget pick has got to be my new charging dock for the Playstation Portal! As a bonus is also charges a DualSense controller at the same time! It keeps my PS5 accessories neatly displayed next to my console, charges them, its powered by USB from the PS5 device so doesn't need to be plugged into a wall which is great for keeping things tidy and it has an RGB ring round the base which means its legit gamer gear haha! Love it!
