Citadel is a deep and complex game. For those who dive in and master it, the richness of the gameplay is a profound reward. But it can be a little tricky to get your head around at first.

Create a video no more than 60 seconds long which explains what Citadel is and who should play it.

To play Citadel, head to alpha.thecitadel.com to access the playtest, which will run throughout the weekends of July 10-12 and July 17-19.

The folks at Citadel are looking for authentic high-quality video content that shows off and explains their game. Please ensure your entry does the following:

Include some commentary over your footage in your real voice - not text to speech - that explains what Citadel is, breaks down the core game loop, explains what kind of gamer will love it, and generally introduces Citadel to anyone who hasn't heard of it.
Be sure to capture the best footage you can: stable, engaging, and well-exposed. Be sure to mention that it’s an early access game. Aim for a minimum of 1080p.
It’s okay if your video isn't a full 60 seconds long, but if you make it shorter then be sure that every second counts!

What is Citadel?

Megastructures, spaceships, loot, permadeath.

Citadel is a browser-native extraction looter in which players coordinate and compete for resources in a high-stakes environment. Every decision you make affects your chances of survival; enter breaches taking risks and come out with loot, or die and lose it all.

Expansive world. As you push deeper into the outskirts of Citadel you will encounter more formidable opponents in tactical and immersive combat. Fitting, forging, and levelling up your ship involves strategic decisions to become more powerful. Managing your inventory is essential to succeed.

Browser based. No downloads or installs; joining a session becomes as easy as clicking a link or sharing it with a friend. Citadel removes friction and allows you to jump straight into the gameplay.
