Speedbuild a mini museum with four themed exhibits, plus a matching themed rollercoaster that wraps around them, and share the sped-up build in a video. Check reward details for the rules.
Speedbuilds are a YouTube favourite in many management sims, and with Rides & Relics, we're taking the opportunity to add a new twist to our own classic format: a rollercoaster.
Here are the exact rules and requirements:
Build EITHER a new, small museum OR a small, themed area within an existing one. If building a standalone museum, it must contain all the facilities it needs to function: a ticket booth, staff room, toilets, and probably some food and drink options. If building a themed area, make sure it's sufficiently separated from the rest of the museum and that the theming is discrete and coherent.
Your build must be themed. The theme is up to you. It can be one of the existing museum themes (botany, maritime, space, fantasy, etc), or it can be one of the seasonal themes, or you can devise an original theme of your own (pirates, wacky inventors, economists...?). The point is that every exhibit and decorative choice you make must make sense and fit an internal logic, building a new museum or new area that feels cohesive, immersive, and greater than the sum of its parts. Exhibits and decorations picked at random will be rejected.
Your build may contain no more than six exhibits in total, one of which must be a rollercoaster from the new Rides & Relics expansion. All exhibits, especially the rollercoaster, must serve your chosen theme, and ideally your rollercoaster would weave around the area. Your building or area should be no bigger than required to show all exhibits at their best while realising your theme - no arbitrarily giant buildings, no wasted space!
Your submission should be a midform video (between four and eight minutes in length) in traditional widescreen YouTube format. It should show you building your micro-museum or themed area from start to finish, with the footage sped up to meet the time requirements, and human voiceover throughout the building section: why this theme, why this layout, and what went wrong along the way? What are you trying to achieve in the footage we're watching from moment to moment? Finish your video with a short tour and a ride-through of the rollercoaster, so we can see how it wraps around the exhibits.
The prizes for this one are relatively high and we're looking for quality. Prizes will be issued to highly creative themes and coaster designs, brought to life with attention to detail, creating places we'd like to visit. Production quality on the video matters too: be engaging from start to finish, fun, and well-produced. Tight editing wins. The best submissions will be considered for Amplification.
