Smite 2 NOW is different than it was even a week ago. This first half of the Open Beta Patch is a substantial step in the right direction. Next week we get Aladdin, Joust, Duel, and the game becomes F2P. With that being said Smite 2 is not just back it is better than its predecessor. The only thing Smite 1 has over Smite 2 is the selection in gods at this point.

New Features that make the game feel better:

Aspects- Subtle changes to the way you play gods are well thought out and designed across the board. I can think of one maybe two that are meh. This type of flexibility is really leading into play your favorite god in whatever role you want.

Game Modes- As of the 14th we will now have all the most requested game modes for Smite 2 outside of clash/siege/slash. I think that is perfectly fine as getting the other modes right is important. Assault is absolutely fantastic even though it doesn't have it's own new map. Conquest has been revamped and with the new jungle elements cooks. It shows the changes the devs are willing to make to get to a better product.

New & Returning Items- Simply a W.

Text Chat- Text communication is now available in the game!

Post Death information is now displayed in the game to show how you died. You can also get a lot more information when you hit T.

On of my Cons, which can be fixed in settings is the default change to buying relics. Before this patch it asked you what you wanted as soon as you got into a game, so the change is a bit rough when that is what you're used too.

Another Con is tanks just not being in the best spot at the moment. Finding a way to make the feel tanky and impactful is important. Ares is a good example of a god that should feel tanky, but with CC Buffering and the amount of Displacement Immunity he just feels bad.

We are on the way to a huge comeback for Smite 2 and I cannot wait to see it happen!
