There are a lot of recognizable brands within Elite, but quite a few are actually based on brands we have today, just slightly changed in name (likely for copyright reasons). A couple examples of this are the original manufacturers of the Python, Whatt and Pritney, which in today's age is Pratt & Whitney, known for their aircraft engines and auxiliary power units, as well as the manufactures of the Federal lineup of ships, Core Dynamics, with an equally as federal real-life counterpart being General Dynamics, known for their Aerospace and Defense contracting with the United States Department of Defense. While these are only 2 examples, there are many more easter eggs like this within Elite's universe!
