I think this post was made for me because I tell everyone about how much this song has arguably changed my way of thinking.

'Anthem' by Leonard Cohen is one of my favourite and most played songs ever, specifically for the line 'There is a crack, a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in'. My favourite sentiment ever in its suggestion that it's only when things are a little broken that true joy and peace (the light) can find its way into something/someone. ahhh I just love the concept so much . There is obviously biblical reference in this line, but I like to also think of it as something more universal to man. The line before that, 'Ring the bells that still can ring' is also a beautiful sentiment, that we should continue to celebrate 'ring the bells' even if there is little to celebrate.

This is a playlist I made that combines music that has been recommended by/reminds me of people I care about. I listen to it when I want to remind myself particularly of people I haven’t seen in a while. Wonderful playlist if I do say so myself!

Has to be 'Don't wanna miss a thing' by Aerosmith. You can just BELT that song. Works particularly well if you've just been heartbroken lol. Starts slowly and then builds up to the strong chorus which is always good for Karaoke. hehe @stella will understand

What is a book you love but would never recommend?

Name a book you wish you could change the ending of and what you would change.

I really struggle to answer this but I think I might have to say 'East of Eden' by John Steinbeck. It is a book that I think about regularly because of a particular sentiment in it. “Don’t you see? . . . The American Standard translation orders men to triumph over sin, and you call sin ignorance. The King James translation makes a promise in ‘Thou shalt,’ meaning that men will surely triumph over sin. But the Hebrew word, the word timshel—‘Thou mayest’—that gives a choice. It might be the most important word in the world. That says the way is open.” The idea of choice between good and evil is so central to the text that this sentiment changes the way you read the book as a whole. Just such a well thought out book with so many beautiful sentiments. Another quote I love is 'I guess I wouldn’t have minded so much if she had wanted my death. That would have been a kind of love. '. Such a heartbreaking reflection on the desire to be with someone that hates you because at least they feel something about you. Steinbeck brought something to fundamentally human to the novel, so fundamental to existence no matter where or who you are. Such an amazing book!

Those little wooden frog percussion things, used to love them as a child. They make such an interesting sound aswell! Please tell me someone knows what I'm referencing because otherwise I sound crazy. I think the concept of these type of percussion instruments stems from Latin America, no idea why its a frog lol but I love it nonetheless.

When I still lived at home I listened to an excessive, and I mean excessive, amount of Phoebe Bridgers. Her and her music is always something I come back to when I am going/am home and there something about its slow sentimentality of teenage emotions that brings me firmly back to my hometown (Manchester). Listening to her music reminds me of growing up in Manchester and the people I know and love from there, as well as how much the city shaped me as I grew older there (from spending excessive amounts of time and money in the huge primark in my younger days, to exploring Manchesters nightlife and living in a big city!). My point is really that Phoebe Bridgers sort of gets me in the mood to reminisce about my time spent here, and I enjoy doing that from time to time. Specifically her song 'Scott Street' feels like home to me.

This was maybe one of the worst films I have ever watched, down to the acting, the premise, the absolute defamation of Dickens' original story. Yet, I have never laughed this much whilst watching a film (likely because I couldn't comprehend how anyone had given it the green light for production). The film is 'A Christmas Karen', a clear reinterpretation of 'A Christmas Carol' with, you guessed it, a Karen. The whole film was honestly an experience I will never forget (I mean I remember it better than most films I have watched). If you're looking for a movie that makes you think yeah, I could make a better one, then you should watch this.

Saw this on Buzzfeed unsolved a while back and it's definitely ominous but interesting, that one of the extras in Jaws may have been a Jane-doe in a local unidentified persons case, as they had a real resemblance. A theory proposed by Stephen King's son I believe. Unsure if they ever proved this to be true, but nonetheless interesting.

Those at home milk frothers have changed my life completely. Not even joking you don't need to leave the house and get a coffee when you can use this silly little machine to froth it yourself and make a perfect frothy coffee. Changes the game from a normal non-frothy coffee :0 Slowly saving to buy one for my uni house as well because the money I save on a good cup of coffee is crazy.
