Rendang was a traditional culinary from West Sumatra, Indonesia. If you came here in the future, don't forget to taste it just once.

Since West Sumatra peoples went outside and started to lived alone and build their own families after they reach adult, they spread around the world and can be found anywhere, even in the other countries. Some of them also started their own business as the head of restaurant who sell their traditional culinary.
Rendang is a popular traditional culinary, and took around 4 until 8 hours to cook. And it was Made of Meat (you can choose either Chicken, Goat, Sheep, or Cow), full of spices which adding Its unique taste.
Rendang is famous for its rich flavor, with spices and seasonings that perfectly assimilated into the meat. This is why rendang was once named as the number one most delicious food in the world (yeah, you’re not misheard it. It was number 1 back then)
The delicious taste is created by its complex ingredients and long cooking time. However, for those who are new to cooking, there's no need to worry. There are simple, practical beef rendang recipes you can try at home. Simple Beef Rendang Recipe Although made with simpler ingredients, the result will still delivers an authentic Minang flavor.
You can follow the ingredients and steps below to cook it in home
Ingredients
Fine spices: 8 cloves of garlic, 12 cloves of shallots, 5 large red chilies, 5 curly chilies, 3 cm ginger, 3 cm galangal, 1 tablespoon of cooking oil
1 kg of Meat (you can choose whether you want Chicken, Goat,sheep,or Cow meat)
3 pieces of lemongrass
4 lime leaves
2 bay leaves
1 liter of thick coconut milk
500 ml of thin coconut milk
½ teaspoon of ground coriander
½ teaspoon of ground turmeric
½ teaspoon of pepper
1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
Steps
Cut the meat into cubes to your desired size.
Grind the spices using a blender or stone mortar.
Next, sauté the ground spices, lemongrass, lime leaves, and bay leaves in cooking oil until fragrant.
Once fragrant, add the beef and cook until the meat begins to change color.
Then, add the thick and thin coconut milk simultaneously.
Then, add the ground coriander, ground turmeric, ground nutmeg, salt, pepper, and sugar.
Stir well and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
Once the beef is cooked through and tender, remove from heat and place on a plate. (The cooking process could took a long time, between 5 or even 8 hours. The perfect cooked rendang was black and the spices and seasonings have absorbed by the meat. It was a dry black rendang beef)
The beef rendang is ready to eat.
