Since it is now something pretty common "The most unfinished Game of the year" !

An Award that would list all those unfinished bugs nests and advertisement lies about very expected announcements, who once released are a big flop.

We all know this from No Man's Sky to Cyberpunk 2077, games that got good a year or more after the release.

That would be an award to avoid and hopefully makes the greedy compagnies take the required time to serve the fanbase properly. (in a perfect world i mean).

There's many funny memes but i'm sure that's the classic one that comes to everybody's mind.

My default would be the Gallente,

As a new player i fell into the Caladari trap of missiles and PvE, kitting around while emptying my rocket launchers, it was obviously a safe technic to use combat ship and i entirely respect that, but it got me very bored at some point.

Then i switched for Gallente and the gameplay changed, brawling and launching drones, flying a Tristan for faction warfare was pretty efficient as a solo PvP catching small targets in high sec, change fitting then fire those hybrid turrets, real fun !

• What got me into was the Hecate, that fast “Nausicaa like” wing, i usually called my ships “Bim Boom Bye”, because that was literally my plan while solo hunting.

• What confirmed was the Proteus, sneaky killing machine, takes hunting to another level..

• What made me fall in love was the Moros Navy Issue, what can i say it’s a beautiful aggressive looking monster.

Gallente you either love the design or you hate it but there is rarely in-between opinions.

So i think the best first investment I’ve made in skills and money at the start was a Blockade Runner with Nomad implants, I’ve managed to fit a Prowler that was less than 2 second align time and around 3500m3 storage, the plan was the classic “buy low, sell high”

Being that fast gives you the opportunity to travel a lot and gather informations about the locals and the dangers in the different regions of the game.

In a week I’ve managed to refund the 2.5 billions investment in ship and implants then kept making profit, but 3 years later something unexpected happened..

I was rushing through Stain to buy some P4 Planetary ressources that’ve been put on the market at a ridiculously low price, 2 000 000 instead of 200 000 000 type, selling this to Jita would mean a very good income.

It was obviously a mistake but you know, Eve being Eve i buy the goods then drift burn my way back through Null Sec direction Jita, happy.

On the way back my Mailbox is blinking, “you owe me 198 000 000”, i don’t usually answer the phone while driving in the dark but i check who’s asking for the records, that man was 6 months in game, let’s talk.

We chat by mail for a little bit and it appears that he was an industrial Planetary interaction oriented player and that I’ve bought his first P4 products - I know what you’re thinking, he could’ve told me anything and just being another alt of a wealthy character, but i choose to trust him - so i make a deal with him, i’m reaching my goal of 1B that week and gives him his money back. I have one word, at the end of the week i send him the money, now we’re both happy.

10 days ago I was moving some old mining material in a freighter, as i’m flying my slow Charon through the gates my wallet amount change, + 3Billions.. “Merry Christmas” i’m looking for the reason and why in the universe someone would have sent me that much money, it takes me time but the name rings a bell, i check the Mailbox and recognize the guy “The Industry is going great this days, thank you for not letting me down when i started. fly safe may our path cross again”.

There’s the worst and the good of humanity in EVE, but sometimes also the best.

For the New players, i would recommend to join the Angel Cartel , the release of the new factions ships made the community around it very popular so you’ll not run out of people to join and content.

Step 1: join the faction of your choice (Angel Cartel if you follow my advice) you’ll find very easy tutorial to do so.

Step 2: Join the public “Angel cartel Standing” fleet and speak up in the fleet chat, the people here will be very happy to link you the discord for coms.

Step 3: Join the Discord, you’ll find plenty of informations about what’s going on, when and where to join, trading assets, what ship to fly, etc.. and if a question fly through your mind, feel free to ask in the “general” chat or speak up, you’ll always get a good answer.

If you don’t know what ship to bring, hop in a solo PvP frigate, a cheap one that you can afford to lose, ask for a fitting in fleet chat or wonder in the website “eve workbench” that will give you many option, you’ll be able to copy/paste the fitting ingame very easily don’t forget “Task + Skills = Fitting”.

The high sec market hub close from the front would be "Rens VI - Moon 8 - Brutor Tribe Treasury“ and ”Hek VIII - Moon 12 - Boundless Creation Factory", BUT, be careful High sec is no safe place for you anymore..

You’re now in fleet with the FC and a lot of other guerrillas, What do ? Add the FC to your watchlist, Listen for the orders and recommandations, try to get as much informations about the situation, as always ask if you’re lost (if it’s a sticky combat situation, keep your question on the chat don’t disturb coms otherwise feel free to speak up and introduce yourself !) you’ll adjust your ship on what you learned and what is needed while the situation can quickly change due to the amount of people involved. Above this all, you’ll have fun.

Frontlines is to me the beginning of an easy entrance to the in-game community for the new players, i remember starting Eve online, it required to watch hours of tutorials to understand the mechanics and what to do to survive in this unfriendly environment, I finally found a Null-Security corporation who was (i know it now) not what i was looking for, i finally quit the game for a year for lack of content. what brought me back to it was the PvP aspect, I involved myself in the NPSI (not purple shoot it) community and experienced joy again in New Eden, unfortunately something was still missing, we were just waiting for the pings, connect for the fleet, and disconnect, without keeping the loot or making any incomes.

Then Havoc was released and it changed a lot of things for me, we joined discords with a standing fleet, people always in the lounge talking and getting to know each other, we were all here, Volta, Pandemic, Brave even Goons under one banner, Pirates. Flying around killing from frigates to capitals ships.

So now you don't have to choose a corporation or alliance right now as a new player who wants PvP and informations about the game, just go on the discord of your faction, speak to people and get to understand this universe while having what we all want, fun.
