Pantheon Winter Festival
The gods of every pantheon have united to celebrate the winter season, bringing unique festivities, challenges, and rewards. The event focuses on seasonal cheer and cooperative competition. Players can unlock exclusive skins, titles, and badges by completing themed quests and battling against each other in the exclusive game mode, Frostbound Clash.
Frostbound Clash:
Gods battle in a festive snow-covered arena to collect Winter Orbs that are thrown on the field. Deposit the orbs at the enemy team's Winter Shrine to deplete your enemies points, but beware, if you die with orbs, the enemy claims them as theirs. (Players would take their orbs to the enemy portal and use the 'interact' button to place them in.)
At minute 10. the Frost Giant (make fire giant blue or something lol) spawns giving a substantial amount of orbs to the team that kills him.
The arena is exposed to the elements, so be wary of the ice patches and snow drifts (the ice would be like Skadi ice, and the snow drifts would act like stealth grass).
Community Challenge: The Festival Tree:
Through the event, players work collectively to "decorate" a massive world-tree displayed in both the menu screen and the arena map. Decoration unlocks will be based on players completing quests and accumulating points. Players can then spend their points in a pool for unlockable decorations for the tree on the events tab. Quests may include:
Winning matches with specific pantheons
Earning gold across games
Gifting a player a chest (ala Smite 1 gift system)
Playing Frostbound Clash
Winter-Themed Skins (don't ask me to draw lol):
Santa? Danzaburou: He's dressed up like Santa, but all of his presents from his sack hurt. His voice pack would be his default voice but with lines of him trying to pull it off.
Holiday Pajamas Jing Wei: Like a child who has matching Christmas pajamas with her family, and speaking of family...
Holiday Sleepwear He Bo: He's not in the game yet, but he is Jing Wei's uncle
Treemir Ymir: Sentient coniferous tree that is a little cold this holiday season, but he doesn't want to be cut down!
Sapporo Sculpture Yuki-onna: Later down, I decided to include a new goddess and have her bring in the event, but the Sapporo Snow festival takes place in Sapporo, Japan and it celebrates the winter season via ice sculptures, so it would be a neat skin to include.
Once you spend enough points for decorations for the Festival Tree, players unlock Winter Wishes. Winter Wishes can be used to shop for rewards, including cosmetics and boosters. Purchasing skins during the event also unlocks Winter Wishes.
Cosmetic Rewards:
Snowball Fight global emote
Ice King/Queen badges (maybe use faces of skins that already represent these?)
Snowscape background for god selection
Event Title "Winter's Herald"
Usually events this big are brought in with some Smite lore and a new god (it was Danza for the last major winter event I know of), and I am going to be so real with you, I am not caught up on that. I am about 30 chapters in, so if this lore hook doesn't fit, oh well.
Lore:
From all of the chaos brought from the gods and goddesses raging war against each other for years, Nut has called forth Yuki-onna, a Japanese maiden brough forth in blizzards (the spirit that inspired the Pokemon Froslass), to demand respite. Whether it be from pure awe or respect, a cease fire has resounded across the battleground. Together, Yuki-onna and Nut have gathered the gods to announce that this winter season, no battles will be fought. Instead, they will celebrate their differences as we enjoy this holiday season together. The gods have agreed to this, but that has not stopped their competitions. Together, the pantheons have banded together to create the "most" representation without disobeying the order of Nut and Yuki-onna.
I hope y'all enjoy reading this and lemme know what you think!
