Smite 2 is in a really good spot right now!
The Pro's:
Performance!
Performance is so much better than it was in the first few months of the closed alpha for Smite 2. I have much more stable FPS and I can stream on twitch while playing. I couldn't before, which was a reason for not switching to Smite 2.
Mechanics
The mechanics are so fun right now, it's like Smite 1 but better. I love the +1 changes to the gods, and I absolutely adore the new gods, Hecate and Mordred. I think Hecate has one of the best kits in smite history
Items
The new Item system is both fun and easy to understand, in my opinion. It brings more variety to builds. And I love the active items. I hope we see more interesting active items in the future
The Cons
Performance could be better
Like I said, the performance is miles ahead of what it was in Smite 2's first few months, but it could run better. Most games, I'm able to stream to both twitch and tiktok while playing the game on normal quality without lag. I can't do that just yet with smite 2. And for people who have lower end PC's, they're at more of a disadvantage.
No text chat
It's hard to interact with the team the way i want to because there's no text chat. Voice chat is great, but a lot of people have the loudest, crunchiest microphones, and don't know how to use push to talk. I think open mic should never ever be allowed in video games. We NEED push to talk because these ppl be watching family guy while we're trying to listen for call outs and stuff.
Low player base
The low player base that we have in Smite 1 and 2 right now, considering the playerbase is currently split, makes for bad matchmaking in both games. It's not very equal
Overall, I reccomend Smite 2, especially since they are giving away access codes via Twitch right now. It's essentially free to play, and I think more people should try it out, especially if you're a smite super fan
