Surviving in The Last of Us as a regular person would be really hard. The post-apocalyptic world is infested with Infected, but besides them, there are also hostile humans and scarce resources, so it'd be a constant struggle to stay alive. I’d try to prioritize staying hidden, moving stealthily, and avoiding confrontation whenever possible. Urban areas overgrown with vegetation would offer places to hide. I’d avoid large groups, as they're especially dangerous for someone on their own. Isolated locations would be the best places to hunker down and rest. Having a reliable weapon, even something simple like a knife or a bat, would be crucial for self-defense, but I’d save firearms only for extreme situations. Trust is a rare commodity, but forming alliances with other survivors could prove beneficial if approached cautiously. I’d focus on basic survival needs, like finding clean water, food, and shelter, relying on foraging and setting up temporary shelters in defensible, hidden places like in forests. Avoiding conflict would be key, running and hiding would be the main strategy, fighting only when absolutely necessary. Not sure how well it'd go, realistically I'd probably die very fast.

Apart from like, the entire game, something non Elite players often dont know before purchasing, is that this game is GRINDY. Sure, you dont HAVE TO grind, you can play space trucker for years without any engineering, but for certain things, it is mandatory.

Meet Daniel Jurcsak, he is kind of a jack of all trades, master of none.

He started out his career as a humble courier, delivering packages from station to station, he did this until he had enough money to buy a Cobra Mk3. This ship is very good for a bunch of different tasks, He started trading a bit, just enough money to start bounty hunting. He quickly climbed the ranks of the Federation, until he decided to take a break form all the killing. He took up exobiology after hearing that it pays extremely well. This is how he made his first 100 Million.
Doing this quickly became boring however, so he once again returned to combat oriented jobs. He started participating in ground conflict zones, mostly for the fun of it. He occasionally also performed some pirate activities on the side. During all this, he was working on creating an AX Krait Mk2, which he did with the help of a CMDR from the AXI. This CMDR also practiced with him until he was satisified with his skills. To this day, he is actively participating in the war against the thargoids. He'd like to go out and explore the galaxy after the war ends.

The top half of the tier list is whats really worth looking at, the rest are ships that are simply not made for mining, or are very bad at it.

The best ones are the Cutter, Python, Corvette, and the Anaconda, The T9 Is very good for its cargo capacity too. Ships like the Clipper, T10, are adequate. The Adder, Cobra mk3 and mk4(just noticed I put it into F tier, thats my bad.) are great for starting out, as they are very cheap for what they offer.
Engineering is generally not needed for mining ships whatsoever, but if you have the spare time and materials, go ahead.

Thargoid combat explained

Big flowers that attacks humans. Their weapons mostly ignore shields, so use HRPs, engineering is important. They are resistant to normal damage so you have to use experimental weapons to damage them. The type you're gonna be fighting are interceptors, they deploy swarms that can quickly kill you. Use flak or evade them. To kill them, you have to shoot until they exert a heart, then destroy it and repeat. if you have a xeno scanner, you can subtarget the hearts, otherwise aim for the petal glowing orange. The strategy is to "orbit" it while using thermal vent engineered lasers to stay cold and not get hit. The guardian gauss and modshard is the best weapon.
