I love this game. I've been playing it on and off for the last 3 years or so, and I find myself coming back when times are hard because the experience of playing this game is so full of love and whimsy.
I have so much fun playing god in this game, making the most messed up frankenstein'd little creatures I always love anyway. I feel so sentimental about them that I usually end up storing most of them before they die, or storing their cores (not all of them though, some of them I like to let the other dogs eat for the Greater Good or whaterver). Hearing that last little howl always hurts my heart!
When I started playing this game, I let the achievements hint at what I could do. Seeing other people's submissions on here widens my perspective because there are still so many mutations I haven't even come close to discovering. My first goal was to make a long dog, then a big dog, then a dog with multiple heads. So far I've also gotten wings and lots of legs and tails, and my objective lately has been to find out if it's possible to have a dog with no legs? So far I've managed to breed one with only 2, one on either corner, who I have aptly named Liminal. He's a doofy little freak and I love him.
I also have a lot of fun unlocking different themes for rooms and food, but my favourite is to put a fan and a doggy bopper in the middle of a room which sends them down a tube into a different room -- that stuff never gets old.
So although I've been playing so long, I've been taking it very slow and cherishing every moment. I always have fun coming back to it and I'm excited to keep playing because I still have so much to explore!
