ohhh thanks for sharing fam will definitely check this out! Super interesting topic, and relevant with modern games too as we move into this all digital age (ps I hope physical games are around forever, the idea of no gaming sections in stores makes me sad)

Absolutely! There's a serious problem with retro hardware and software becoming unusable, much like there's a problem with servers being shut down with modern games. If we don't figure out a way to preserve this then there will be a massive hole in our collective culture.

I think these mini consoles are great for accessing old games, but there's something special about playing it on original hardware. I've got an Amiga 500 and a box of floppy disks sat on the shelf next to me, but I just know those disks won't work anymore 😭

This is sick. Love this.

It really is! There's a place near me called the Retro Computing Museum that has a similar (if less curated) setup. It's always full of parents and kids bonding over a mutual love of games, even if the consoles are 25+ years old 😁

Thats so cool. Need to track one down some time. I fear for licenced games like Rugrats search for Reptar and Discworld most of all. Games were there is probably more than one license holder. Games from our childhood being lost to time. This is truly needed.
