cannot wait to see where they go with this, I have almost finished reading my first Warhammer 40k book which is basically a collection of short stories and damn it is brutal. Grimdark future is going to be a sight to behold on TV, and so cool Henry's at the helm as he is a HUGE 40k fan! It's so vast I feel they really need to break it down in to smaller chunks that maybe reference the bigger story thats going on to make it digestible enough for folks, whilst also giving them the freedom to tackle more stories in the universe later on, as I can imagine a lot of this needing huge budget which they may not have for the first show, so make that one successful then build from there. Like the Horus Heresy would be a mega series in itself spanning years, I know a lot would disagree but I just love the space marines, and I know people will say dont focus on them or have them right off the bat, but they have been the figure head of 40k for years, so maybe a story on death watch or one of the chapters could be cool and reduce the scope a bit. caveat im no expert in 40k and have just recently got into it but all the stories with Space Marines really hook me in! u?
I used to play Warhammer 40k when I was younger, and had a Chaos army.
Definitely agree that starting with something digestible like Space Marines is probably a safe bet. Imagine being a non-Warhammer fan but episode one they start introducing Tyranids, Greater Daemons, or the Cult of the Machine.
I can almost hear the channel being changed! 😂 No doubt there'd be loads of people interested in that, myself included, but they need to build up to the less digestible factions.

I'm surprised it's taken them this long to try and adapt 40k to tv/film, there is SO MUCH content. The Horus Heresy would be the obvious first choice for me, but I reckon they might choose something a little simpler/shorter to ease general audiences into 40k.
I'm with you on the Space Marine front, they're without a doubt the figure head of 40k so I wouldn't be surprised if they centred it around them. I would love for them to start with a show on the Imperial Guard, where they namedrop the Space Marines but you don't see them till further on.
I'll be happy provided they don't go down the Halo route...
this could be a shout btw, the imperial guard are human aren’t they? Could be good for a. Ore relatable struggle and maybe near the end it introduces space marines who fall out of the sky in their drop pods and save the day since they are huge genetically enhanced super soldiers! Awww I’m just visualising it now haha bliss!

It's funny you typed that out because I typed something very similar in my original comment! It would be a great way to introduce them imo, they could name drop them throughout the series beforehand to build up hype!

aww enjoy! The story I had heard doing the rounds about this fan made movie is it was so well received that games workshop actually gave the dude a job to go on work on an official follow up! Not sure what’s happened since but it’s fantastically done! Make sure you watch with good headphones or tune the volume up on your setup as it’s really spectacular 🔥
