Fall 2024 - a new action-JRPG from the creators of many of the Persona games
Exodus
"Pew pew pew" - Matthew McConaughey is his breezily charming self as he appears on stage to present a world premiere made in Austin, Texas by Archetype Entertainment and in which he appears. Slick-looking high-concept sci-fi game in which space explorers fight an alien race called the Celestials. Lots of time dilation stuff going on. Muse's 'Supermassive Black Hole' closes the trailer and that's very much the vibe.
Alright, alright, alright. I think this is the trailer I'm most excited about.
Assassin's Creed Nexus
A VR AC game with what looks like the ability to switch between different AC universes: gameplay sections were shown from Black Flag, Assassin's Creed 2 (with Ezio), and Odyssey. Out now, there are previews out there on games sites if you fancy more info!
Big Walk
From House House, the creators of Untitled Goose Game: a whimsical co-op puzzle game. Coming 2025.
God of War: Ragnarok - Valhalla
Free DLC dropping on December 12, 2023!! Blends GOW combat with roguelike elements
Amazing! I still haven't gotten around to Ragnarök, but now I have yet another reason to play
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II
No new hard info on this one - Hellblade II was announced ages ago and we got a 2024 release date at Summer Game Fest this year, but nice to see it reconfirmed, and there's a sick new trailer with some awesome Norse-influenced music by Heilung.
The Matchless Kung Fu
Open-world sandbox RPG with big-time WuXia influences, currently in Early Access.
Kemuri
Hunt yokai (demons) in an urban jungle. A new IP by Unseen studio, Tokyo and Ikumi Nakamura, creative director who worked on Ghostwire: Tokyo.
No Rest for the Wicked
Action-RPG by Moon Studios (creators of Ori and the Blind Forest) published by Private Division. Big grimdark vibes in the trailer - dark fantasy world, lots of very freaky monster designs. More information at a showcase on March 1.

Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi look perfect! I'm hyped for Streets of Rage and Golden Axe as well, although I wonder how good the transition to 3D will be, especially when Streets of Rage 4 was so good and Golden Axe Beast Rider was so bad. I'm also curious if Crazy Taxi will have some kind of story mode or if it will be as arcadey as it was in the olden days, I can't help but wonder if the raw arcade gameplay is enough for people in 2023

Single-player horror game by Supermassive Games set in the Dead by Daylight universe.
Rise of the Ronin
Previously announced PlayStation-exclusive action-RPG by Team Ninja. Some cool Sekiro-esque platforming with ninja ropes and then an unfolding back-mounted kite glider. Release date reveal: March 22, 2024.
DragonBall Sparking! Zero
Ok I'll be honest I've no idea what separates these games from one another. Here's what the website says:
DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO takes the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series and raises it to whole new levels. DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO has a historic number of playable characters, each with signature abilities, transformations and techniques.

Iiiiiit's Kojima time!
Remarkable trailer - hands down the most lifelike faces I've ever seen animated. We're scaling the other side of the uncanny valley with this one.
Kojima comes out on stage to say more - co-developed with Xbox and their cloud gaming tech. Says it's a game, but also a movie, and also "a new form of media".
Surprise Jordan Peele appearance! Some glowing praise for Kojima's work and says he's honoured to be collaborating with him on this, which is going to be "completely immersive, utterly terrifying".
Visions of Mana
First new entry in the mainline Mana series in over 15 years!
Jurassic Park: Survival
Single-player action-adventure with what looks to be an emphasis on survival, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X/S. Set right after the original 1993 movie. You play as a scientist who's "been left behind on Isla Nublar" - trailer takes in some of the movie's iconic locations, such as the kitchen that Tim and Lex left in such a mess, before switching into first person.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Much more detailed new trailer, with some shots of the Justice League itself including Superman and Batman. February 2, 2024.
Black Myth Wukong
Inspired by Journey to the West, the classic Chinese fantasy novel. Great-looking trailer - amazing creature and world designs. Definite FromSoft vibes. Previously announced, the new info is the releae date: August 20, 2024.
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage
From the creators of Life is Strange. Late 2024
The First Berserker: Khazan
A "hardcore" action-RPG based on the Dungeon Fighter franchise. Trailer shows off some pretty brutal-looking combat - Soulslike-looking boss battles but with a bit of bullet hell going on.
Tales of Kenzera: Zau
Introduced in a heartfelt on-stage appearance by actor Abubakar Salim, this is a poignant single-player story shaped by his own experience with grief, and an action-platformer in which you wield the magical powers of Sun and Moon. Coming April 23, 2024.
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage
A new story-driven "adventure through time" by the creators of Life is Strange. Coming late 2024. From the trailer description:
"The magical summer of 1995 is one of self-discovery and forging unbreakable bonds for high school friends Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat. 27 years of no contact later, fate reunites them to confront the long-buried secret that made them promise to never speak again."
Marvel's Blade
Mature, third-person, single-player action-adventure game based on Marvel's famous vampire hunter, published by Bethesda, and made by Arkane Lyon (hype!), the studio behind Dishonored and Deathloop. It'll be set in Paris, says Arkane's very enthusiastic Dinga Bakaba on stage.
Skull & Bones
Ubisoft's many-times delayed pirate sim gets a precise release date: February 16, 2024.
Last Sentinel
An all-new futuristic open-world action game set in dystopian Tokyo. Made by Lightspeed Studios and introduced on-stage by its General Manager Steve C Martin, a 14-year Rockstar veteran.
The First Descendant
A "next-generation" looter shooter that saw nearly two million players worldwide participate in its recent crossplay open beta. Set for a full release in summer 2024.
Zenless Zone Zero
Trailer for the previously announced next game from Hoyoverse which, like Genshin and Honkai Star Rail, will surely be hopelessly compulsive. "Coming soon in 2024."
Space Marine 2 release date reveal
The sequel to the hit action game in the grim darkness of the far future got a new trailer and a release date: September 9, 2024.
I never played the first one, but this looks epic.
Exoborne
Could've sworn this was The Surge 3 for a sec, but it's not. Dystopian sci-fi extraction shooter with exo-rigs. Tagline is "master the apocalypse" and it's an Xbox exclusive.
Den of Wolves
A new cooperative FPS heist game from 10 Chambers, makers of Payday and GTFO...

...which also got a new trailer for what will be its last update, GTFO: The Final Chapter.
Light No Fire
New from Hello Games, introduced on stage by its studio head Sean Murray. "Something maybe more ambitious" than No Man's Sky. "Here we go," says Geoff. Quite. As with No Man's Sky, Sean says this is being made by a team of about a dozen.
It's another procedurally generated shared-world multiplayer game, but it's fantasy not sci-fi, and set on a single planet rather than a whole galaxy. It'll be bigger than Earth but the procedural generation is far, far more detailed than No Man's Sky's - Sean talks in particular about the scale and intricacy of the mountains. "The first real open world", says Sean, a whole planet without boundaries, which everyone can explore together.
Stormgate
Stormgate was announced a little while ago - it'll be a new fantasy RTS made by Starcraft II and Warcraft III veterans. This is a new story and gameplay trailer featuring Simu Liu, Steam early access is coming in Summer 2024.
Final Fantasy XVI DLC
Two pieces of paid DLC confirmed for FF16: Echoes of the Fallen, which is out tonight on PS5, and The Rising Tide, due in spring 2024.
I didn't expect it to be available straight away, looks really good, can't wait to try it!
The Finals - launching now!
The free-to-play multiplayer shooter that's getting a ton of buzz gets a new trailer and a launch date: tonight! The Finals is rolling out on Steam, PS5, and Xbox X/S this very hour.
Timothée Chalomet comes out to present Game of the Year. There's an orchestral medley of all the nominees' main scores - it's pretty awesome, though that transition from Mario into Resident Evil has a bit of a tire screech on it.

And the winner is: Baldur's Gate 3! Larian studio head Swen Wincke rocks up to the stage in his breastplate, and delivers a touching acceptance speech. Some of the cast, including Astarion's voice actor Neil Newbon who won the award for best performance earlier on, are tearing up in the audience.

Monster Hunter Wilds
Looks like a new main-sequence entry in the famous monster hunting RPG series! Due to land some time in 2025, with more information to come in summer 2024.

I think it's the award I'm most happy about, not because it's FF but because that man poured his heart and soul into his work even when he's been in hospital and deservers all the recognition.
Hands down one of the greatest composers of all times.
