The biggest show of the gaming calendar is in just a couple of days! Founded by former Spike Video Game Awards host and games journalist Geoff Keighley in 2014, The Game Awards has been running for nearly a decade, and in that time we've come to expect a few things.
Certain celebrity appearances, turns of phrase, various affectionately anticipated idiosyncrasies from those who might take the stage - it's all part of the show, and along with more topical predictions about new game announcements, many gaming communities like to add (even more) fun to the event by making bingo cards ahead of the show and playing along.
Now it's our turn! Here's how it works:
Download the official Just About TGA 2023 bingo card template that you'll find posted below in the replies. If you'd rather not download things, we'll accept submissions made with an external bingo template site, or even your own 5x5 grid made at home.
Fill in the blank cells (the centre is free!) with your own predictions for 'things that will definitely happen during the night'. Obviously, we want specific predictions - nothing cheap like 'a game will win an award' or 'Geoff will say words'. We reserve the right to subjectively disqualify submissions not in keeping with the spirit of the game.
Post your completed bingo card as your bounty submission.
One important rule: only one award prediction per card! We know it's an important part of the night, but we feel a few of them are a bit too easy to call (I've got a good feeling about a certain barnstorming CRPG) so we need to set some limits.
That's it! Feel free to call 'bingo' in a reply to your submission, but we'll be checking all submitted cards independently. We've got three prizes of $30 for anyone whose card scores a bingo - five stamps in a row, column, or diagonal line. If there are more than three winners, we'll use obscurity of correct predictions as a tiebreaker.
