Squint, and there's a certain wholesome farming idyll lurking at the core of Elderfield. But then there's everything else.

For this reward, we want you to lean into this juxtaposition. Share funny, creepy, or plain ironic videos about the ways in which Elderfield takes the rural farming sim genre and subverts it with a bit of Lovecraftian horror. See reward details for more.

Elderfield is a game of two moods. You could be cosying up with your local townie crush one minute, running from something with too many teeth the next. That's the dichotomy we want to celebrate and spotlight in this reward.

Cut together your best wholesome moments (farming, decorating, chatting with the locals) alongside your best horror moments (combat, jump-scares, anything from the Old Gods) in a highlights reel of great gameplay clips that shows both sides. Present a wholesome moment and then show it subverted by something horrifying. Use clever editing techniques to emphasise the contrast and flip moods: shifts in music, sound effects, visual filters, smoothness of transitions, that kind of thing.

Your reel should give equal weight to both halves of Elderfield's identity; don't let it tip entirely into cosy-game montage or horror-game montage. A good structure is to alternate between the two, or build to a hard tonal switch partway through.

All entries must do/be the following:

Either vertical or horizontal is fine for this one, but keep it between 60 and 180 seconds. Only TikTok and YouTube are allowed.
Use your own footage only, stitched together from multiple play sessions if needed.
Voiceover/subtitles are optional for this one - and not necessary unless you can see a way they'll add to the tonal whiplash.
