I don't know if they've already been said, but as a piece of advice I can give, if you're new to Smite, it's to read all the initial guides carefully, without skipping them because it could become a bit difficult later (as happened to me too). After this you have the possibility of using a character, maybe seeing all the characteristics of the various characters before taking the one you will use initially. Also, after you've played for a while and understood the game's mechanism a bit, that of buying wards because they are very useful in battle. Sentinels cost little but allow you to see enemies on the map before any surprise attacks. You have to place them in strategic points (such as sides, curves etc) and thus avoid destructive ambushes.

A very different kind of tip i'd like to share, is know when to take breaks.
Smite is allot more fun when you can actually enjoy it, and it will even improve your success.
Sometimes smite can be a little overstimulating, with team mates spam pinging, or vgs spam, or even getting camped by a jungler when you're just trying to farm.
And then it's best to take a little break from the game, in order not to get Tilted.

Managing your tilt can help improve your experience with smite, and can stop you from possible rage quiting, or flaming in chat, making the experience nicer for everyone.

The tip I can give you is to understand all the gods, I know that sounds very difficult, but understanding what you're up against is the key to overcoming it. How do you do that then? Don't make smite your study target, learn almost by osmosis, by watching videos on youtube (here's my recommendation for: Daxonn, LemTM and Inters3ct), understanding the changes in the patch notes, all of this will be stored by instinct, as well as - of course - playing the game, all of which will allow you to evolve.

I also recommend Frgotenpower's guides on Tacter, I'm a big fan of his work.

As a Smite player since Season 2 and someone who started Smite 2 from the moment I could thanks to Founder's Packs, these are:

Play

It's obvious, but there's no better learning than practice, trying to memorize not only what your character does, but also what the other gods do. As you play, you'll learn which situations are favorable for attacking an enemy, or maybe learn that you can fight two enemies at once, or know when to fight to gain an advantage and go for a Gold Fury or Fire Giant.

Videos

If you want to learn more during any free time you have during the day but can't play, then watch videos. More than watching them, I'd say analyze them. See how someone escapes a difficult situation, or how they turn around a fight they were losing, or maybe analyze what they had to do to win a fight. All of this helps. Sometimes you even learn all of this subconsciously.

Ranked

I don't recommend playing Ranked until you're clear on how to play each role because knowing this gives you insight into when and how to help the team (and also why your jungler can't come help you without getting angry) XD.
