Interesting article here from CBR listing characters that launched in supporting or sidekick roles (e.g. War Machine to Iron Man) but became more prominent, sometimes leading the main comic for a limited run (e.g. Jane Foster as Thor). Perhaps certain writers had a clear vision of where to take the character or perhaps they were always interesting enough to carry a run from their inception and fan interest just kept building.
It raises the question: which other comic-book characters are ready for their turn in the spotlight? Do you agree with CBR's picks or would you add others of your own?
