Ever wonder what the creator of Scott Pilgrim is doing? Well he's been writing an on-going comic book series called Snotgirl. A title which makes you think of 10-year old idea of a comic book hero but is about the life and times of an allergy suffering social media influencer Lottie Person. In traditional Scott Pilgrim slice-of-life style, it follows the superficial life of an influencer, their little online and offline spats with fellow creators, and obsession over image rather than substance.
Living in a the instagram/tiktok generation this premise may be irritating so it is mixed with a supernatural/ murder mystery/thriller that hangs over Lottie's life that keeps you reading.
The series has been on hiatus for over a year so fans like myself have been eagerly anticipating re-entering the Snotgirl world.
Has anyone else heard of this series? If so, do you think its a worthy follow up to Scott Pilgrim? For me I love the writing but the art is a little too inconsistent to be able to carry the story on its own.
