Took a quick stab at recreating the first book from my fav series :)

A classic head shot composition, I think with an actual photoshoot of a space themed helmet would look sick but an edited motorbike stock image will have to do.

This is the original, I think it's dated but appreciate its simplicity

A question actually for a mod to maybe answer, would using an AI image as a base (in this case the helmet image) be against TOS?

Anyway, I've posted a screenshot of the layered file, can provide more proof if required :)

Hey Scrbzy, good question! Our AI content policy outlines our reasons for discouraging AI-generated content (bad-faith behaviour, low-quality or inauthentic content, devaluation of human creators etc). That said, if they're used sparingly and are mixed with a large dose of human-created assets then we could possibly consider such submissions on a case-by-case basis.

We don't want to set a precedent that would allow bad-faith actors (not you 🧡) to scribble a few lines on an AI-generated asset and call it their own as a defence against necessary action by our content team.

If you do use generative AI at any step in your process, please:

  • Be up front about it and tell us in your submission, and

  • Most importantly, please ensure that your own input is extensive, and leaves no room to doubt your good intentions to produce quality content.

Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

Many thanks for the clear clarification :)

My instinct was right then, I figured with the minimal assets in my cover using AI would've been cheating.

I agree 100% with the reasoning so worry not, no AI trash from this dude anytime soon <3

For this bounty, i have chosen to redesign the cover of Jennette McCurdy's "I'm Glad My Mom Died," because the bold, raw design of the cover is a strong reflection of the book itself but for a more introspective piece that would allow for emotional weight and vulnerability while still reflecting some of the comedy and bluntness present in the story.

My new cover emphasises a symbolic image: a miniature childhood trophy with the base cracked, sitting on a vanity and lit softly from below to illustrate the broken expectations and the fragile perfection she had to maintain. In the background, there's a faded mirror with Jennette's silhouette in it, giving an idea about identity and self-reflection.

I’ve included a work-in-progress shot to show my initial sketch and layering process. I also attached the original cover for comparison to show how I reinterpreted the tone while still honouring the core themes.

When it came to colour, I loved the original colour palette, so I touched on notes of that to help bring my cover to life. I also deliberately chose to sketch out and use the pencil tool for the book's illustrations. This was to touch on the fact that this is a biography, in some ways a diary, and there are parts of the book where McCurdy refers to handwritten letters.

Programmes used:
Pro create - to sketch out ideas and for the illustration
Adobe Illustrater - to put all the elements together and add text with 3D render
Adobe Photoshop - to create the mock up

*Grammerly plug-in used to help with grammar and spelling mistakes for the wordy bits above :)

I always imagine what if sailor moon manga cover is just like this.

Their story is so romantic

I almost forgot to submit my wip. I make the cover from Canva.

I get the idea when I rewatch some ending song from their anime.

The siluet give the vibe how romantic their are. So I remake the cover from this reference.

And this is the original one.
