Originally known as Justin.tv before a rebrand over a decade ago, Twitch became, and remains, the dominant platform for live streaming. It was initially focused on video games but has since expanded to various real-life categories. But you know this; chances are, everyone reading this has used Twitch before, even if just to watch a stream once or twice.
In another of our platform breakdown bounties, we want to know what's it like for folks looking to create content on Twitch, and put together the ultimate getting started guide for members of our community. Any insights that could give them a jumpstart are welcome: what are the tricks of the trade for streaming, whether of video games or anything else? Is there anything unique to Twitch that doesn't need to be considered on other streaming platforms? What are the best times to stream? How long should you stream for? How do you engage with chat? And anything else you'd wish someone had told your past self when you got started.
We're offering a mix of reward thresholds for this one. If you've got a quick tip of just a couple of sentences or up to a minute of video, you're in line for $3, but if you'd like to write a longer post breaking down several of the inner workings of Twitch (at least 200 words or three minutes of video), that'll make you eligible for an $8 reward. Whichever you go for, keep it high-quality - we're after helpful, actionable tips!
