Despite reporting lower than anticipated revenue, some significant layoffs, and that their user-following drone may occasionally burst into flames (!?), Snapchat is positioning itself as the antidote to social media.
My social circle isn't Snapchat's target audience so maybe I'm missing something, but is this positioning as unexpected as it sounds?
Don't get me wrong, with a reported 800 million monthly active users there's no denying they're a major platform, but are they pushing a bit harder than ususal?
Snap-using creators, can you fill me in? Even if you don't use it, what do you think anti-social media means?
