YouTube: Long form VS Shorts

As a new creator I’m still studying different content creators and trying to learn what I can. I’ve seen creators who focus on shorts only and less than 10 long form videos. They have about 7Mil+ subs and their short averages 7+ mil view for each. These shorts creators grow quickly usually in 1-2 years when done right.

Compared to let’s say medium to long form creators who stream with 2-3mil subs and their average view of 300k. These creators take years and years to create their following.

Personally, I think for the long term med-long form, streams and short only to compliment the main videos is better as not only do the creators earn from ad sense but from super chats, membership and other things as well. Longer forms also mean more watch time if you are able to capture the audience and create a loyal following. In this case even a small sub base means more than 7 mil people who only watch your shorts. It may be discouraging and take probably 5-10x longer but it’s worth it. But I could be wrong. What do you guys think?
