YouTube launches their own multiplayer games...sort of

YouTube Tests Multiplayer Games With In-Stream ‘Playables’

YouTube's trying out a more social version of its mini-games.

We’re beginning to test a new multiplayer feature for a few select games on YouTube Playables. Multiplayer on Playables lets you play games in real-time with other users. We’re starting our tests with two games: Ludo Club and Magic Tiles 3 on desktop and mobile devices.

I can see how this would be a fun way to interact with streamers, but I'm not sure about their choice of titles!

What sort of games would you want to try? Are there any that might be a good fit?

This is really random and reminds me of the old Facebook games like restaurant city and there was a mafia one too, I wish they kept stadia and worked more on integrating that into YouTube, could have been a very cool integration for both platforms

That would have been pretty cool actually! The games they were offering via Stadia are probably a bit too involved for this, but I wonder if Discord's Activities inspired this new feature?

That looks a bit like those mobile game ads! 😄 Is it multiplayer pvp or do they have anything co-op?

I was expecting something more like Jackbox, but I imagine games like Among Us, Fall Guys, Gang Beasts, Ultimate Chicken Horse etc would work well.

That particular game is single player, is pretty fun and additive, something I like is that youtube save our progress and keep it if we return to play.
