This week for our content creator spotlight we are talking to FFXIV expert Lanah Tyra
Can you tell everyone about your content?
So I started streaming when we were doing Delubrum Reginae Savage raids in FFXIV, this was a 48 man endgame content during Shadowbringers and we were organising runs for the community on our Discord. I took over raid leading and it was custom to stream our sessions for those who couldn't participate but wanted to learn or watch the progress so I started streaming them as well. I didn't know anything about followers, subscibers, never looked at any numbers or promoted my streams just went live when the raid started. Really shows I had no clue what I was doing or didn't even consider myself a content creator because as soon as I stopped doing this type of content, most of my viewers disappeared as well, since they were just from the Discord, not interested in anything else.
I had a few random videos on my Youtube channel, speedruns from Delubrum Reginae Savage, my ingame wedding video, tour of my house in FFXIV, but probably I only started doing content with a plan when I made my guide series for FFXVI.
My niche was the 48-man raids and since I stopped doing that content, I'm still trying to find my niche, so currently I do all sorts of guides for FFXIV and stream occasionally a meantoring session where I try to teach people things from the game like how to tank in dungeons, or how to complete the seasonal events. We are getting a new 48-man raid in the next patch though, so my niche might be back, who knows?
Could you tell us about your proudest achievement with content creation?
My proudest achievement is that I made it to the finalists on the FFXIV FanFest video contest in 2023 with this video:
It's the recreation of a meme using my ingame character
My video with the most views is my first FFXVI guide. It's interested to me how this got the most views from the series, as I didn't have trouble with this fight at all, while some of the others took me many trials and error to get it right and to make a guide on top. So really shows that everyone will find something different difficult in a game
If you could give any advice about content creation, what would it be?
Don't compare yourself to others. I spent a lot of time researching other creators, trying to make similar videos, similar thumbnail, but had to learn the hard way what works for others will not work for me. So be yourself, make the content you enjoy making, and viewers will eventually find you. Probably the only thing worth experimenting with is what type of content does well on each platform. For example I upload the same shorts to Youtube and TikTok and barely get any views on Youtube, while TikTok seems to be thriving.
What is your favorite thing about Just?
My favourite thing is probably the people I have met here, I don't think I would have ever written articles in English or do a podcast if it was not for the encouragement I have received here.

My main platform is Youtube, but I also stream on Twitch:

None of my channels are monetised yet, so if anyone would like to contribute to the amount of coffee I need to make content beside a full-time job, they can do so here:
Lanah also contributes to making the monthly Just Community Podcast with some other long time members but they are open to anyone else joining them so keep an eye out for the next topic announcement post if you aren interested in taking part.
