This is by far the best one I can find.

  1. Title/Thumbnail/first 30 seconds

  2. Get to the point, don't waffle on, within 20 seconds of the video starting

  3. Paying attention to the right analytics on long-form and shorts.

SEO often feels like magic – no one really knows exactly how it works, and if someone claims they do, be cautious; they might be trying to scam you.

I've been dealing with various forms of web promotions and marketing for nearly two decades, and I've learned many do's and don'ts.

  1. The first lesson is to be skeptical of services promising miraculous growth. You can achieve effective SEO without secret knowledge.

  2. Secondly, honesty is key. Don't try to 'fool' the system or trick crawlers. Be as transparent as possible and create well-structured content.

  3. Third, consider UX in your content creation. Think about who your users are, why they come to your site, and how you can engage them. Don't resort to clickbait titles only to bombard visitors with ads and pop-ups.

The simplicity lies in following first-party rules and using their tools. Google, for instance, provides all the necessary knowledge and tools to help you succeed. Learn how to build and store your content, conduct regular self-audits, and monitor your performance.

So the guides are:

  1. SEO starter

  2. Lighthouse for self-audits

  3. Core Web Vitals for daily monitoring

I remember a Content Lead at an old job giving me similar words of warning on SEO: 'If ever someone tells you they have all the answers, don't trust them - Google is far too mysterious and the algorithms are intentionally unknowable.'

I really like this video from Latasha which breaks down and discusses a lot which I think would be valuable for any content creators trying to plan out there 2024 approach to promote themselves or their channels so we’ll worth watching as lots of useful, easy to understand insights.

But in particular I’d skip to around 13 minutes if you are short on time as this section is valuable discussing the trends and changes on each platform which will help you decide if you are posting the right content in the right place as this changes very regularly in the content creation space and then most importantly your brand, what will you be known for which will be key to promote yourself! Like I always say people know to go to Starbucks for a coffee not for buying a car, so what will you be known for wherever you are online?

This will be a big help as it should allow you to select the right type of content for your chosen platforms and also not waste time on content which the platform is no longer interested in pushing organically.

Also this insight is forward looking with spoken brief predictions to help alongside the historical info from the research paper she is discussing! She relates most of this to a small business but I see a lot of crossover and still relevant for creators who maybe are looking to grow solo as the ideas and lessons can still be applied to your benefit. Then the content buckets are discussed which is something I only really became aware of last year so well worth checking out as it should help you be know for whatever topic or niche you are in!

Hopefully this helps newbies and is a nice refresher for veteran creators out there!
