There are already so many great ideas!! I'm very excited for some of those.

I have one Big Idea that I think would be really good: a fiber art creation contest!! This is directly inspired by something another game, Spirit City: Lofi Sessions, did recently. You can find the terms of their contest here for example, and the winners here. As you can see, people really went off with plushies, needlework, sweaters, and more! I was a little disappointed that they ended up only rewarding professional-looking efforts, as they had specifically made free patterns available and encouraged people to try their hands at crochet and such.

Two other, smaller ideas that I think would work well (and be less work to set up lol):

  • design a backpack or other accessory for the player character! I really love the customization in this game, and I want more!!

  • design a piece of food to serve to the clients in the memory mini-game! If there was a higher difficulty with a rotation of items, it would make the game more challenging! this item could also be used as a decoration (coughs Catcus cake anyone? coughs)

I thought of a bounty for people to suggest new food recipes for the Critter Café. Players could suggest themed recipes inspired by the Critters or the game's universe, giving the dish a creative name and describing the ingredients. And it would be nice to offer a bigger reward for those who include an image or video showing the visual idea of the recipe (it could even be a real-world dish or something virtual), with a more detailed description. Then the creativity and originality of each dish would be evaluated!

I am very partial to art challenges, the one about designing your own critter was fun!

So how about design challenges about other parts of the game like "Design a piece of furniture you'd like to place in your coffee shop" or "Design a decor element you'd love to offer to your critters in their enclosure"

I do love environments =)

I was thinking, how do we make a challenge of how many people we can serve at our cafe in game?

so everyone will record it and how much they can serve in 1 day / 1 session from the opening of the cafe in that day in game.

whoever serves the most & is the best at serving wins.

I think one of the most useful rewards they could have would be “What do you think is missing from the game to make it even better?”. This reward would allow the community to come up with ideas for possible new features or changes to things that already exist in the game. This could help the developers bring in new content in the future based on what the community is asking for!

Recreate Your Favorite Critter

Bring your favorite Critter Cafe character to life! Using plasticine, modeling clay, or a 3D printer, recreate any in-game critter as a physical model. Share your creation via your connected social media account to enter.

Judging criteria will focus on the complexity of the model and how accurately the small details of the original character are preserved. Get creative and show off your craftsmanship

And it should serve as a perfect prop for the Sturmer stop-motion challenge!

Awesome combo idea, I like it!

Stop-Motion Challenge: Bring Critter Café to Life!

It's been a while since our last stop-motion challenge, but it's time to bring it back! Your task is to create a 30-second (or longer) stop-motion clip capturing the vibe of Critter Café. It could showcase a day in the café, a puzzle-solving moment, or even a scene of caring for a critter.

One rule: no hands in the frame! Keep it pure stop-motion artistry in its true form.

This challenge could be a good idea

  • Make your Critter Cafe character look like your favorite anime, book, or celebrity character. Explain which character it is and why it’s your favorite

I think showing off your critter habitat decoration and how you have incorporated all the different furniture you have unlocked. And show your critters playing around the habitat because they enjoy all the fun things you keep adding.

I imagine a Evergreen reward that you must show your café layout and decoration, and explain what make you to decide it. You have to say if it was a strategy to most efficiency while playing or if it was just by the look and style, and would be nice if you tell what were your inspirations and references.

I can imagine a challenge to serve X amount of customers per shift in the cafe! Depending on the amount of customers that the challenge requires, the cafe’s layout would matter. If needed to serve 5 customers in the challenge for a cozy win, the cafe layout can remain as decorated and cute as you want! If needed to serve perhaps 15 customers, the cafe layout may need more optimized pathing. I recognize this game is on the cozier side though, so perhaps a low customer-satisfaction limit is ideal, but we can add a twist of the cafe needing a certain theme to it. An example would be: Serve 5 customers in a Green/Spring inspired environment! Entries would be submitted through video format and judged that way.

Making people create a long tables installment unique piece, no space, overun all over the shop and able to serve all the customers incoming. The challenge for the reward? Doing in less 5 minutes with a clip. I made a picture for an example of how the tables can be positioned. The difficult is to find the right way for positioning the tables without being bloked during the service.

Even though the main focus is the Cafe, a challenge decorating the critter habitat could be fun too. I noticed there are different themed areas, beach, mountain, desert etc so a challenge that goes with that theme.

Judging would be a community vote on X and Discord. Maybe have people also comment what they like most about the entries. It'd help the community be more active.

DU

Personally proposing a reward that requires you to furnish the café in the most original way possible with the few objects that the DEMO offers, perhaps requiring participants to recover at least 5 projects and use them in their own café.

Outfit challenge! I'd like to see a challenge with themed outfits, such as for the Christmas period, being able to match the colors with the Critters, or another period, such as New Year's Eve.

The evaluation will be through prints or videos showing your character and even your coffee following the chosen theme, the combination options are endless, leaving the free creativity of our community.

Oh yes!! Like a little fashion show!!

yan57436 I love this idea! You could match the season, cafe theme, Critter style, and coffee choice, then make a little promo as if you were advertising a real cafe! 😃

I have several ideas :o Do I make several submissions or just the big one? Thank you!

Multiple submissions to a reward aren't possible, so one big one would be great, thanks!

Run a fanart contest to design something new for the game. Maybe a new Critter which could possibly be put into the game. I'd also really like to see people designing new outfits which again, could possibly be made and put into the game.

I’d love to see a "Community Contributor" reward on Just About Critter Café. This could be given to those who consistently engage with the community, share ideas, and participate in various events. The reward could come in the form of special in-game items, exclusive content, or even a special badge that recognizes their contributions. It would encourage more interaction and help foster a stronger sense of belonging within the community.

mmmm I would suggest making a themed café, therefore choosing a specific theme and using furnishing objects, wallpapers and various decorations with the same style, perhaps also attaching a short story on why the style in question was chosen, and what it could do to improve it.
